Hifz trainer

Choose a passage, then hide more of it as it settles: every other word, then all but the first, then everything. Grade each recitation and the trainer tells you when to review it.

وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا ٱلْقُرْءَانَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍۢ
And We have certainly made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember? Al-Qamar 54:17

How to use the trainer

Listen to a trusted reciter first and read the passage correctly several times with the text in front of you. Hiding words tests memory; it does not teach pronunciation.

Move up a level when a recitation is clean. “Forgot” brings the passage back tomorrow; each good recitation lengthens the gap before the next review, up to six months.

Word splits follow the written text, so a pause sign stays with the word before it.

Questions

What is the best way to memorise the Quran?

Short, daily sessions; a fixed amount of new text; and regular review of what you already hold. Most people who lose memorised surahs lose them to a lack of review. The schedule here is meant to keep that from happening.

What is spaced repetition?

Reviewing just before you would forget. Passages you recite well are reviewed less often, and passages you struggle with come back sooner.

Does it listen to my recitation?

No. You recite aloud and check yourself by revealing the words. Nothing is recorded or sent anywhere.
