1. Fajr

   Read the passage · Al-Mutaffifin

   بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

   وَيْلٌۭ لِّلْمُطَفِّفِينَ١

   Woe to those who give less [than due],

   ٱلَّذِينَ إِذَا ٱكْتَالُوا۟ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ يَسْتَوْفُونَ٢

   Who, when they take a measure from people, take in full.

   وَإِذَا كَالُوهُمْ أَو وَّزَنُوهُمْ يُخْسِرُونَ٣

   But if they give by measure or by weight to them, they cause loss.

   أَلَا يَظُنُّ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ أَنَّهُم مَّبْعُوثُونَ٤

   Do they not think that they will be resurrected

   لِيَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍۢ٥

   For a tremendous Day -

   يَوْمَ يَقُومُ ٱلنَّاسُ لِرَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ٦

   The Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the worlds?

   كَلَّآ إِنَّ كِتَٰبَ ٱلْفُجَّارِ لَفِى سِجِّينٍۢ٧

   No! Indeed, the record of the wicked is in sijjeen.

   وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا سِجِّينٌۭ٨

   And what can make you know what is sijjeen?

   كِتَٰبٌۭ مَّرْقُومٌۭ٩

   It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed.

   وَيْلٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ١٠

   Woe, that Day, to the deniers,

   ٱلَّذِينَ يُكَذِّبُونَ بِيَوْمِ ٱلدِّينِ١١

   Who deny the Day of Recompense.

   وَمَا يُكَذِّبُ بِهِۦٓ إِلَّا كُلُّ مُعْتَدٍ أَثِيمٍ١٢

   And none deny it except every sinful transgressor.

   إِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِ ءَايَٰتُنَا قَالَ أَسَٰطِيرُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ١٣

   When Our verses are recited to him, he says, "Legends of the former peoples."

   كَلَّا ۖ بَلْ ۜ رَانَ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَكْسِبُونَ١٤

   No! Rather, the stain has covered their hearts of that which they were earning.

   كَلَّآ إِنَّهُمْ عَن رَّبِّهِمْ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لَّمَحْجُوبُونَ١٥

   No! Indeed, from their Lord, that Day, they will be partitioned.

   ثُمَّ إِنَّهُمْ لَصَالُوا۟ ٱلْجَحِيمِ١٦

   Then indeed, they will [enter and] burn in Hellfire.

   ثُمَّ يُقَالُ هَٰذَا ٱلَّذِى كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ١٧

   Then it will be said [to them], "This is what you used to deny."

   كَلَّآ إِنَّ كِتَٰبَ ٱلْأَبْرَارِ لَفِى عِلِّيِّينَ١٨

   No! Indeed, the record of the righteous is in 'illiyyun.

   وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا عِلِّيُّونَ١٩

   And what can make you know what is 'illiyyun?

   كِتَٰبٌۭ مَّرْقُومٌۭ٢٠

   It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed

   يَشْهَدُهُ ٱلْمُقَرَّبُونَ٢١

   Which is witnessed by those brought near [to Allah].

   إِنَّ ٱلْأَبْرَارَ لَفِى نَعِيمٍ٢٢

   Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure

   عَلَى ٱلْأَرَآئِكِ يَنظُرُونَ٢٣

   On adorned couches, observing.

   تَعْرِفُ فِى وُجُوهِهِمْ نَضْرَةَ ٱلنَّعِيمِ٢٤

   You will recognize in their faces the radiance of pleasure.

   يُسْقَوْنَ مِن رَّحِيقٍۢ مَّخْتُومٍ٢٥

   They will be given to drink [pure] wine [which was] sealed.

   خِتَٰمُهُۥ مِسْكٌۭ ۚ وَفِى ذَٰلِكَ فَلْيَتَنَافَسِ ٱلْمُتَنَٰفِسُونَ٢٦

   The last of it is musk. So for this let the competitors compete.

   وَمِزَاجُهُۥ مِن تَسْنِيمٍ٢٧

   And its mixture is of Tasneem,

   عَيْنًۭا يَشْرَبُ بِهَا ٱلْمُقَرَّبُونَ٢٨

   A spring from which those near [to Allah] drink.

   إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ أَجْرَمُوا۟ كَانُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ يَضْحَكُونَ٢٩

   Indeed, those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed.

   وَإِذَا مَرُّوا۟ بِهِمْ يَتَغَامَزُونَ٣٠

   And when they passed by them, they would exchange derisive glances.

   وَإِذَا ٱنقَلَبُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِمُ ٱنقَلَبُوا۟ فَكِهِينَ٣١

   And when they returned to their people, they would return jesting.

   وَإِذَا رَأَوْهُمْ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ لَضَآلُّونَ٣٢

   And when they saw them, they would say, "Indeed, those are truly lost."

   وَمَآ أُرْسِلُوا۟ عَلَيْهِمْ حَٰفِظِينَ٣٣

   But they had not been sent as guardians over them.

   فَٱلْيَوْمَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلْكُفَّارِ يَضْحَكُونَ٣٤

   So Today those who believed are laughing at the disbelievers,

   عَلَى ٱلْأَرَآئِكِ يَنظُرُونَ٣٥

   On adorned couches, observing.

   هَلْ ثُوِّبَ ٱلْكُفَّارُ مَا كَانُوا۟ يَفْعَلُونَ٣٦

   Have the disbelievers [not] been rewarded [this Day] for what they used to do?

   بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

   وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلْبُرُوجِ١

   By the sky containing great stars

   وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْمَوْعُودِ٢

   And [by] the promised Day

   وَشَاهِدٍۢ وَمَشْهُودٍۢ٣

   And [by] the witness and what is witnessed,

   قُتِلَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْأُخْدُودِ٤

   Cursed were the companions of the trench

   ٱلنَّارِ ذَاتِ ٱلْوَقُودِ٥

   [Containing] the fire full of fuel,

   إِذْ هُمْ عَلَيْهَا قُعُودٌۭ٦

   When they were sitting near it

   وَهُمْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَفْعَلُونَ بِٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ شُهُودٌۭ٧

   And they, to what they were doing against the believers, were witnesses.

   وَمَا نَقَمُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ إِلَّآ أَن يُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلْحَمِيدِ٨

   And they resented them not except because they believed in Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy,

   ٱلَّذِى لَهُۥ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ شَهِيدٌ٩

   To whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. And Allah, over all things, is Witness.

   إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ فَتَنُوا۟ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَتُوبُوا۟ فَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ ٱلْحَرِيقِ١٠

   Indeed, those who have tortured the believing men and believing women and then have not repented will have the punishment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the Burning Fire.

   إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ لَهُمْ جَنَّٰتٌۭ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْكَبِيرُ١١

   Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds will have gardens beneath which rivers flow. That is the great attainment.

   إِنَّ بَطْشَ رَبِّكَ لَشَدِيدٌ١٢

   Indeed, the vengeance of your Lord is severe.

   إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ يُبْدِئُ وَيُعِيدُ١٣

   Indeed, it is He who originates [creation] and repeats.

   وَهُوَ ٱلْغَفُورُ ٱلْوَدُودُ١٤

   And He is the Forgiving, the Affectionate,

   ذُو ٱلْعَرْشِ ٱلْمَجِيدُ١٥

   Honorable Owner of the Throne,

   فَعَّالٌۭ لِّمَا يُرِيدُ١٦

   Effecter of what He intends.

   هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ٱلْجُنُودِ١٧

   Has there reached you the story of the soldiers -

   فِرْعَوْنَ وَثَمُودَ١٨

   [Those of] Pharaoh and Thamud?

   بَلِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ فِى تَكْذِيبٍۢ١٩

   But they who disbelieve are in [persistent] denial,

   وَٱللَّهُ مِن وَرَآئِهِم مُّحِيطٌۢ٢٠

   While Allah encompasses them from behind.

   بَلْ هُوَ قُرْءَانٌۭ مَّجِيدٌۭ٢١

   But this is an honored Qur'an

   فِى لَوْحٍۢ مَّحْفُوظٍۭ٢٢

   Read the passage · Al-Fajr

   بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

   وَٱلْفَجْرِ١

   By the dawn

   وَلَيَالٍ عَشْرٍۢ٢

   And [by] ten nights

   وَٱلشَّفْعِ وَٱلْوَتْرِ٣

   And [by] the even [number] and the odd

   وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا يَسْرِ٤

   And [by] the night when it passes,

   هَلْ فِى ذَٰلِكَ قَسَمٌۭ لِّذِى حِجْرٍ٥

   Is there [not] in [all] that an oath [sufficient] for one of perception?

   أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِعَادٍ٦

   Have you not considered how your Lord dealt with 'Aad -

   إِرَمَ ذَاتِ ٱلْعِمَادِ٧

   [With] Iram - who had lofty pillars,

   ٱلَّتِى لَمْ يُخْلَقْ مِثْلُهَا فِى ٱلْبِلَٰدِ٨

   The likes of whom had never been created in the land?

   وَثَمُودَ ٱلَّذِينَ جَابُوا۟ ٱلصَّخْرَ بِٱلْوَادِ٩

   And [with] Thamud, who carved out the rocks in the valley?

   وَفِرْعَوْنَ ذِى ٱلْأَوْتَادِ١٠

   And [with] Pharaoh, owner of the stakes? -

   ٱلَّذِينَ طَغَوْا۟ فِى ٱلْبِلَٰدِ١١

   [All of] whom oppressed within the lands

   فَأَكْثَرُوا۟ فِيهَا ٱلْفَسَادَ١٢

   And increased therein the corruption.

   فَصَبَّ عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّكَ سَوْطَ عَذَابٍ١٣

   So your Lord poured upon them a scourge of punishment.

   إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَبِٱلْمِرْصَادِ١٤

   Indeed, your Lord is in observation.

   فَأَمَّا ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ إِذَا مَا ٱبْتَلَىٰهُ رَبُّهُۥ فَأَكْرَمَهُۥ وَنَعَّمَهُۥ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّىٓ أَكْرَمَنِ١٥

   And as for man, when his Lord tries him and [thus] is generous to him and favors him, he says, "My Lord has honored me."

   وَأَمَّآ إِذَا مَا ٱبْتَلَىٰهُ فَقَدَرَ عَلَيْهِ رِزْقَهُۥ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّىٓ أَهَٰنَنِ١٦

   But when He tries him and restricts his provision, he says, "My Lord has humiliated me."

   كَلَّا ۖ بَل لَّا تُكْرِمُونَ ٱلْيَتِيمَ١٧

   No! But you do not honor the orphan

   وَلَا تَحَٰٓضُّونَ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ ٱلْمِسْكِينِ١٨

   And you do not encourage one another to feed the poor.

   وَتَأْكُلُونَ ٱلتُّرَاثَ أَكْلًۭا لَّمًّۭا١٩

   And you consume inheritance, devouring [it] altogether,

   وَتُحِبُّونَ ٱلْمَالَ حُبًّۭا جَمًّۭا٢٠

   And you love wealth with immense love.

   كَلَّآ إِذَا دُكَّتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ دَكًّۭا دَكًّۭا٢١

   No! When the earth has been leveled - pounded and crushed -

   وَجَآءَ رَبُّكَ وَٱلْمَلَكُ صَفًّۭا صَفًّۭا٢٢

   And your Lord has come and the angels, rank upon rank,

   وَجِا۟ىٓءَ يَوْمَئِذٍۭ بِجَهَنَّمَ ۚ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ يَتَذَكَّرُ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ وَأَنَّىٰ لَهُ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ٢٣

   And brought [within view], that Day, is Hell - that Day, man will remember, but what good to him will be the remembrance?

   يَقُولُ يَٰلَيْتَنِى قَدَّمْتُ لِحَيَاتِى٢٤

   He will say, "Oh, I wish I had sent ahead [some good] for my life."

   فَيَوْمَئِذٍۢ لَّا يُعَذِّبُ عَذَابَهُۥٓ أَحَدٌۭ٢٥

   So on that Day, none will punish [as severely] as His punishment,

   وَلَا يُوثِقُ وَثَاقَهُۥٓ أَحَدٌۭ٢٦

   And none will bind [as severely] as His binding [of the evildoers].

   يَٰٓأَيَّتُهَا ٱلنَّفْسُ ٱلْمُطْمَئِنَّةُ٢٧

   [To the righteous it will be said], "O reassured soul,

   ٱرْجِعِىٓ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكِ رَاضِيَةًۭ مَّرْضِيَّةًۭ٢٨

   Return to your Lord, well-pleased and pleasing [to Him],

   فَٱدْخُلِى فِى عِبَٰدِى٢٩

   And enter among My [righteous] servants

   وَٱدْخُلِى جَنَّتِى٣٠

   And enter My Paradise."

   Read the passage · Al-Baqara 211–218

   سَلْ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ كَمْ ءَاتَيْنَٰهُم مِّنْ ءَايَةٍۭ بَيِّنَةٍۢ ۗ وَمَن يُبَدِّلْ نِعْمَةَ ٱللَّهِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَتْهُ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ شَدِيدُ ٱلْعِقَابِ٢١١

   Ask the Children of Israel how many a sign of evidence We have given them. And whoever exchanges the favor of Allah [for disbelief] after it has come to him - then indeed, Allah is severe in penalty.

   زُيِّنَ لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ ٱلْحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَيَسْخَرُونَ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ۘ وَٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوْا۟ فَوْقَهُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ يَرْزُقُ مَن يَشَآءُ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍۢ٢١٢

   Beautified for those who disbelieve is the life of this world, and they ridicule those who believe. But those who fear Allah are above them on the Day of Resurrection. And Allah gives provision to whom He wills without account.

   كَانَ ٱلنَّاسُ أُمَّةًۭ وَٰحِدَةًۭ فَبَعَثَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلنَّبِيِّۦنَ مُبَشِّرِينَ وَمُنذِرِينَ وَأَنزَلَ مَعَهُمُ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ بِٱلْحَقِّ لِيَحْكُمَ بَيْنَ ٱلنَّاسِ فِيمَا ٱخْتَلَفُوا۟ فِيهِ ۚ وَمَا ٱخْتَلَفَ فِيهِ إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوهُ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَتْهُمُ ٱلْبَيِّنَٰتُ بَغْيًۢا بَيْنَهُمْ ۖ فَهَدَى ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لِمَا ٱخْتَلَفُوا۟ فِيهِ مِنَ ٱلْحَقِّ بِإِذْنِهِۦ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ يَهْدِى مَن يَشَآءُ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍۢ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ٢١٣

   Mankind was [of] one religion [before their deviation]; then Allah sent the prophets as bringers of good tidings and warners and sent down with them the Scripture in truth to judge between the people concerning that in which they differed. And none differed over the Scripture except those who were given it - after the clear proofs came to them - out of jealous animosity among themselves. And Allah guided those who believed to the truth concerning that over which they had differed, by His permission. And Allah guides whom He wills to a straight path.

   أَمْ حَسِبْتُمْ أَن تَدْخُلُوا۟ ٱلْجَنَّةَ وَلَمَّا يَأْتِكُم مَّثَلُ ٱلَّذِينَ خَلَوْا۟ مِن قَبْلِكُم ۖ مَّسَّتْهُمُ ٱلْبَأْسَآءُ وَٱلضَّرَّآءُ وَزُلْزِلُوا۟ حَتَّىٰ يَقُولَ ٱلرَّسُولُ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مَعَهُۥ مَتَىٰ نَصْرُ ٱللَّهِ ۗ أَلَآ إِنَّ نَصْرَ ٱللَّهِ قَرِيبٌۭ٢١٤

   Or do you think that you will enter Paradise while such [trial] has not yet come to you as came to those who passed on before you? They were touched by poverty and hardship and were shaken until [even their] messenger and those who believed with him said, "When is the help of Allah?" Unquestionably, the help of Allah is near.

   يَسْـَٔلُونَكَ مَاذَا يُنفِقُونَ ۖ قُلْ مَآ أَنفَقْتُم مِّنْ خَيْرٍۢ فَلِلْوَٰلِدَيْنِ وَٱلْأَقْرَبِينَ وَٱلْيَتَٰمَىٰ وَٱلْمَسَٰكِينِ وَٱبْنِ ٱلسَّبِيلِ ۗ وَمَا تَفْعَلُوا۟ مِنْ خَيْرٍۢ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِهِۦ عَلِيمٌۭ٢١٥

   They ask you, [O Muhammad], what they should spend. Say, "Whatever you spend of good is [to be] for parents and relatives and orphans and the needy and the traveler. And whatever you do of good - indeed, Allah is Knowing of it."

   كُتِبَ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلْقِتَالُ وَهُوَ كُرْهٌۭ لَّكُمْ ۖ وَعَسَىٰٓ أَن تَكْرَهُوا۟ شَيْـًۭٔا وَهُوَ خَيْرٌۭ لَّكُمْ ۖ وَعَسَىٰٓ أَن تُحِبُّوا۟ شَيْـًۭٔا وَهُوَ شَرٌّۭ لَّكُمْ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ وَأَنتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ٢١٦

   Fighting has been enjoined upon you while it is hateful to you. But perhaps you hate a thing and it is good for you; and perhaps you love a thing and it is bad for you. And Allah Knows, while you know not.

   يَسْـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلشَّهْرِ ٱلْحَرَامِ قِتَالٍۢ فِيهِ ۖ قُلْ قِتَالٌۭ فِيهِ كَبِيرٌۭ ۖ وَصَدٌّ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَكُفْرٌۢ بِهِۦ وَٱلْمَسْجِدِ ٱلْحَرَامِ وَإِخْرَاجُ أَهْلِهِۦ مِنْهُ أَكْبَرُ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ ۚ وَٱلْفِتْنَةُ أَكْبَرُ مِنَ ٱلْقَتْلِ ۗ وَلَا يَزَالُونَ يُقَٰتِلُونَكُمْ حَتَّىٰ يَرُدُّوكُمْ عَن دِينِكُمْ إِنِ ٱسْتَطَٰعُوا۟ ۚ وَمَن يَرْتَدِدْ مِنكُمْ عَن دِينِهِۦ فَيَمُتْ وَهُوَ كَافِرٌۭ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ حَبِطَتْ أَعْمَٰلُهُمْ فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱلْءَاخِرَةِ ۖ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلنَّارِ ۖ هُمْ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ٢١٧

   They ask you about the sacred month - about fighting therein. Say, "Fighting therein is great [sin], but averting [people] from the way of Allah and disbelief in Him and [preventing access to] al-Masjid al-Haram and the expulsion of its people therefrom are greater [evil] in the sight of Allah. And fitnah is greater than killing." And they will continue to fight you until they turn you back from your religion if they are able. And whoever of you reverts from his religion [to disbelief] and dies while he is a disbeliever - for those, their deeds have become worthless in this world and the Hereafter, and those are the companions of the Fire, they will abide therein eternally.

   إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَٱلَّذِينَ هَاجَرُوا۟ وَجَٰهَدُوا۟ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ يَرْجُونَ رَحْمَتَ ٱللَّهِ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ غَفُورٌۭ رَّحِيمٌۭ٢١٨

   Indeed, those who have believed and those who have emigrated and fought in the cause of Allah - those expect the mercy of Allah. And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
