   Al-Muminoon 51–96

   Read the passage · Al-Muminoon 51–96

   يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلرُّسُلُ كُلُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلطَّيِّبَٰتِ وَٱعْمَلُوا۟ صَٰلِحًا ۖ إِنِّى بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ عَلِيمٌۭ٥١

   [Allah said], "O messengers, eat from the good foods and work righteousness. Indeed, I, of what you do, am Knowing.

   وَإِنَّ هَٰذِهِۦٓ أُمَّتُكُمْ أُمَّةًۭ وَٰحِدَةًۭ وَأَنَا۠ رَبُّكُمْ فَٱتَّقُونِ٥٢

   And indeed this, your religion, is one religion, and I am your Lord, so fear Me."

   فَتَقَطَّعُوٓا۟ أَمْرَهُم بَيْنَهُمْ زُبُرًۭا ۖ كُلُّ حِزْبٍۭ بِمَا لَدَيْهِمْ فَرِحُونَ٥٣

   But the people divided their religion among them into sects - each faction, in what it has, rejoicing.

   فَذَرْهُمْ فِى غَمْرَتِهِمْ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍ٥٤

   So leave them in their confusion for a time.

   أَيَحْسَبُونَ أَنَّمَا نُمِدُّهُم بِهِۦ مِن مَّالٍۢ وَبَنِينَ٥٥

   Do they think that what We extend to them of wealth and children

   نُسَارِعُ لَهُمْ فِى ٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ ۚ بَل لَّا يَشْعُرُونَ٥٦

   Is [because] We hasten for them good things? Rather, they do not perceive.

   إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ هُم مِّنْ خَشْيَةِ رَبِّهِم مُّشْفِقُونَ٥٧

   Indeed, they who are apprehensive from fear of their Lord

   وَٱلَّذِينَ هُم بِـَٔايَٰتِ رَبِّهِمْ يُؤْمِنُونَ٥٨

   And they who believe in the signs of their Lord

   وَٱلَّذِينَ هُم بِرَبِّهِمْ لَا يُشْرِكُونَ٥٩

   And they who do not associate anything with their Lord

   وَٱلَّذِينَ يُؤْتُونَ مَآ ءَاتَوا۟ وَّقُلُوبُهُمْ وَجِلَةٌ أَنَّهُمْ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ رَٰجِعُونَ٦٠

   And they who give what they give while their hearts are fearful because they will be returning to their Lord -

   أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ يُسَٰرِعُونَ فِى ٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ وَهُمْ لَهَا سَٰبِقُونَ٦١

   It is those who hasten to good deeds, and they outstrip [others] therein.

   وَلَا نُكَلِّفُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَا ۖ وَلَدَيْنَا كِتَٰبٌۭ يَنطِقُ بِٱلْحَقِّ ۚ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ٦٢

   And We charge no soul except [with that within] its capacity, and with Us is a record which speaks with truth; and they will not be wronged.

   بَلْ قُلُوبُهُمْ فِى غَمْرَةٍۢ مِّنْ هَٰذَا وَلَهُمْ أَعْمَٰلٌۭ مِّن دُونِ ذَٰلِكَ هُمْ لَهَا عَٰمِلُونَ٦٣

   But their hearts are covered with confusion over this, and they have [evil] deeds besides disbelief which they are doing,

   حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَآ أَخَذْنَا مُتْرَفِيهِم بِٱلْعَذَابِ إِذَا هُمْ يَجْـَٔرُونَ٦٤

   Until when We seize their affluent ones with punishment, at once they are crying [to Allah] for help.

   لَا تَجْـَٔرُوا۟ ٱلْيَوْمَ ۖ إِنَّكُم مِّنَّا لَا تُنصَرُونَ٦٥

   Do not cry out today. Indeed, by Us you will not be helped.

   قَدْ كَانَتْ ءَايَٰتِى تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْكُمْ فَكُنتُمْ عَلَىٰٓ أَعْقَٰبِكُمْ تَنكِصُونَ٦٦

   My verses had already been recited to you, but you were turning back on your heels

   مُسْتَكْبِرِينَ بِهِۦ سَٰمِرًۭا تَهْجُرُونَ٦٧

   In arrogance regarding it, conversing by night, speaking evil.

   أَفَلَمْ يَدَّبَّرُوا۟ ٱلْقَوْلَ أَمْ جَآءَهُم مَّا لَمْ يَأْتِ ءَابَآءَهُمُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ٦٨

   Then have they not reflected over the Qur'an, or has there come to them that which had not come to their forefathers?

   أَمْ لَمْ يَعْرِفُوا۟ رَسُولَهُمْ فَهُمْ لَهُۥ مُنكِرُونَ٦٩

   Or did they not know their Messenger, so they are toward him disacknowledging?

   أَمْ يَقُولُونَ بِهِۦ جِنَّةٌۢ ۚ بَلْ جَآءَهُم بِٱلْحَقِّ وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ لِلْحَقِّ كَٰرِهُونَ٧٠

   Or do they say, "In him is madness?" Rather, he brought them the truth, but most of them, to the truth, are averse.

   وَلَوِ ٱتَّبَعَ ٱلْحَقُّ أَهْوَآءَهُمْ لَفَسَدَتِ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتُ وَٱلْأَرْضُ وَمَن فِيهِنَّ ۚ بَلْ أَتَيْنَٰهُم بِذِكْرِهِمْ فَهُمْ عَن ذِكْرِهِم مُّعْرِضُونَ٧١

   But if the Truth had followed their inclinations, the heavens and the earth and whoever is in them would have been ruined. Rather, We have brought them their message, but they, from their message, are turning away.

   أَمْ تَسْـَٔلُهُمْ خَرْجًۭا فَخَرَاجُ رَبِّكَ خَيْرٌۭ ۖ وَهُوَ خَيْرُ ٱلرَّٰزِقِينَ٧٢

   Or do you, [O Muhammad], ask them for payment? But the reward of your Lord is best, and He is the best of providers.

   وَإِنَّكَ لَتَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍۢ مُّسْتَقِيمٍۢ٧٣

   And indeed, you invite them to a straight path.

   وَإِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱلْءَاخِرَةِ عَنِ ٱلصِّرَٰطِ لَنَٰكِبُونَ٧٤

   But indeed, those who do not believe in the Hereafter are deviating from the path.

   ۞ وَلَوْ رَحِمْنَٰهُمْ وَكَشَفْنَا مَا بِهِم مِّن ضُرٍّۢ لَّلَجُّوا۟ فِى طُغْيَٰنِهِمْ يَعْمَهُونَ٧٥

   And even if We gave them mercy and removed what was upon them of affliction, they would persist in their transgression, wandering blindly.

   وَلَقَدْ أَخَذْنَٰهُم بِٱلْعَذَابِ فَمَا ٱسْتَكَانُوا۟ لِرَبِّهِمْ وَمَا يَتَضَرَّعُونَ٧٦

   And We had gripped them with suffering [as a warning], but they did not yield to their Lord, nor did they humbly supplicate, [and will continue thus]

   حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا فَتَحْنَا عَلَيْهِم بَابًۭا ذَا عَذَابٍۢ شَدِيدٍ إِذَا هُمْ فِيهِ مُبْلِسُونَ٧٧

   Until when We have opened before them a door of severe punishment, immediately they will be therein in despair.

   وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنشَأَ لَكُمُ ٱلسَّمْعَ وَٱلْأَبْصَٰرَ وَٱلْأَفْـِٔدَةَ ۚ قَلِيلًۭا مَّا تَشْكُرُونَ٧٨

   And it is He who produced for you hearing and vision and hearts; little are you grateful.

   وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى ذَرَأَكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَإِلَيْهِ تُحْشَرُونَ٧٩

   And it is He who has multiplied you throughout the earth, and to Him you will be gathered.

   وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى يُحْىِۦ وَيُمِيتُ وَلَهُ ٱخْتِلَٰفُ ٱلَّيْلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ ۚ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ٨٠

   And it is He who gives life and causes death, and His is the alternation of the night and the day. Then will you not reason?

   بَلْ قَالُوا۟ مِثْلَ مَا قَالَ ٱلْأَوَّلُونَ٨١

   Rather, they say like what the former peoples said.

   قَالُوٓا۟ أَءِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًۭا وَعِظَٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ٨٢

   They said, "When we have died and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected?

   لَقَدْ وُعِدْنَا نَحْنُ وَءَابَآؤُنَا هَٰذَا مِن قَبْلُ إِنْ هَٰذَآ إِلَّآ أَسَٰطِيرُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ٨٣

   We have been promised this, we and our forefathers, before; this is not but legends of the former peoples."

   قُل لِّمَنِ ٱلْأَرْضُ وَمَن فِيهَآ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ٨٤

   Say, [O Muhammad], "To whom belongs the earth and whoever is in it, if you should know?"

   سَيَقُولُونَ لِلَّهِ ۚ قُلْ أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ٨٥

   They will say, "To Allah." Say, "Then will you not remember?"

   قُلْ مَن رَّبُّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ ٱلسَّبْعِ وَرَبُّ ٱلْعَرْشِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ٨٦

   Say, "Who is Lord of the seven heavens and Lord of the Great Throne?"

   سَيَقُولُونَ لِلَّهِ ۚ قُلْ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُونَ٨٧

   They will say, "[They belong] to Allah." Say, "Then will you not fear Him?"

   قُلْ مَنۢ بِيَدِهِۦ مَلَكُوتُ كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ وَهُوَ يُجِيرُ وَلَا يُجَارُ عَلَيْهِ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ٨٨

   Say, "In whose hand is the realm of all things - and He protects while none can protect against Him - if you should know?"

   سَيَقُولُونَ لِلَّهِ ۚ قُلْ فَأَنَّىٰ تُسْحَرُونَ٨٩

   They will say, "[All belongs] to Allah." Say, "Then how are you deluded?"

   بَلْ أَتَيْنَٰهُم بِٱلْحَقِّ وَإِنَّهُمْ لَكَٰذِبُونَ٩٠

   Rather, We have brought them the truth, and indeed they are liars.

2. Maghrib

   17:38

   Al-Qaari'a and At-Takaathur

   Read the passage · Al-Qaari'a

   بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

   ٱلْقَارِعَةُ١

   The Striking Calamity -

   مَا ٱلْقَارِعَةُ٢

   What is the Striking Calamity?

   وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلْقَارِعَةُ٣

   And what can make you know what is the Striking Calamity?

   يَوْمَ يَكُونُ ٱلنَّاسُ كَٱلْفَرَاشِ ٱلْمَبْثُوثِ٤

   It is the Day when people will be like moths, dispersed,

   وَتَكُونُ ٱلْجِبَالُ كَٱلْعِهْنِ ٱلْمَنفُوشِ٥

   And the mountains will be like wool, fluffed up.

   فَأَمَّا مَن ثَقُلَتْ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ٦

   Then as for one whose scales are heavy [with good deeds],

   فَهُوَ فِى عِيشَةٍۢ رَّاضِيَةٍۢ٧

   He will be in a pleasant life.

   وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَفَّتْ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ٨

   But as for one whose scales are light,

   فَأُمُّهُۥ هَاوِيَةٌۭ٩

   His refuge will be an abyss.

   وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا هِيَهْ١٠

   And what can make you know what that is?

   نَارٌ حَامِيَةٌۢ١١

   It is a Fire, intensely hot.

   Read the passage · At-Takaathur

   بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

   أَلْهَىٰكُمُ ٱلتَّكَاثُرُ١

   Competition in [worldly] increase diverts you

   حَتَّىٰ زُرْتُمُ ٱلْمَقَابِرَ٢

   Until you visit the graveyards.

   كَلَّا سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ٣

   No! You are going to know.

   ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ٤

   Then no! You are going to know.

   كَلَّا لَوْ تَعْلَمُونَ عِلْمَ ٱلْيَقِينِ٥

   No! If you only knew with knowledge of certainty...

   لَتَرَوُنَّ ٱلْجَحِيمَ٦

   You will surely see the Hellfire.

   ثُمَّ لَتَرَوُنَّهَا عَيْنَ ٱلْيَقِينِ٧

   Then you will surely see it with the eye of certainty.

   ثُمَّ لَتُسْـَٔلُنَّ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَنِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ٨

   Then you will surely be asked that Day about pleasure.

3. Isha

   19:08

   Read the passage · An-Naazi'aat 27–46

   ءَأَنتُمْ أَشَدُّ خَلْقًا أَمِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ ۚ بَنَىٰهَا٢٧

   Are you a more difficult creation or is the heaven? Allah constructed it.

   رَفَعَ سَمْكَهَا فَسَوَّىٰهَا٢٨

   He raised its ceiling and proportioned it.

   وَأَغْطَشَ لَيْلَهَا وَأَخْرَجَ ضُحَىٰهَا٢٩

   And He darkened its night and extracted its brightness.

   وَٱلْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ دَحَىٰهَآ٣٠

   And after that He spread the earth.

   أَخْرَجَ مِنْهَا مَآءَهَا وَمَرْعَىٰهَا٣١

   He extracted from it its water and its pasture,

   وَٱلْجِبَالَ أَرْسَىٰهَا٣٢

   And the mountains He set firmly

   مَتَٰعًۭا لَّكُمْ وَلِأَنْعَٰمِكُمْ٣٣

   As provision for you and your grazing livestock.

   فَإِذَا جَآءَتِ ٱلطَّآمَّةُ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ٣٤

   But when there comes the greatest Overwhelming Calamity -

   يَوْمَ يَتَذَكَّرُ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ مَا سَعَىٰ٣٥

   The Day when man will remember that for which he strove,

   وَبُرِّزَتِ ٱلْجَحِيمُ لِمَن يَرَىٰ٣٦

   And Hellfire will be exposed for [all] those who see -

   فَأَمَّا مَن طَغَىٰ٣٧

   So as for he who transgressed

   وَءَاثَرَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا٣٨

   And preferred the life of the world,

   فَإِنَّ ٱلْجَحِيمَ هِىَ ٱلْمَأْوَىٰ٣٩

   Then indeed, Hellfire will be [his] refuge.

   وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِۦ وَنَهَى ٱلنَّفْسَ عَنِ ٱلْهَوَىٰ٤٠

   But as for he who feared the position of his Lord and prevented the soul from [unlawful] inclination,

   فَإِنَّ ٱلْجَنَّةَ هِىَ ٱلْمَأْوَىٰ٤١

   Then indeed, Paradise will be [his] refuge.

   يَسْـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلسَّاعَةِ أَيَّانَ مُرْسَىٰهَا٤٢

   They ask you, [O Muhammad], about the Hour: when is its arrival?

   فِيمَ أَنتَ مِن ذِكْرَىٰهَآ٤٣

   In what [position] are you that you should mention it?

   إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ مُنتَهَىٰهَآ٤٤

   To your Lord is its finality.

   إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مُنذِرُ مَن يَخْشَىٰهَا٤٥

   You are only a warner for those who fear it.

   كَأَنَّهُمْ يَوْمَ يَرَوْنَهَا لَمْ يَلْبَثُوٓا۟ إِلَّا عَشِيَّةً أَوْ ضُحَىٰهَا٤٦

   It will be, on the Day they see it, as though they had not remained [in the world] except for an afternoon or a morning thereof.

   Read Surah An-Naazi'aat →

   Read the passage · Abasa 33–42

   فَإِذَا جَآءَتِ ٱلصَّآخَّةُ٣٣

   But when there comes the Deafening Blast

   يَوْمَ يَفِرُّ ٱلْمَرْءُ مِنْ أَخِيهِ٣٤

   On the Day a man will flee from his brother

   وَأُمِّهِۦ وَأَبِيهِ٣٥

   And his mother and his father

   وَصَٰحِبَتِهِۦ وَبَنِيهِ٣٦

   And his wife and his children,

   لِكُلِّ ٱمْرِئٍۢ مِّنْهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ شَأْنٌۭ يُغْنِيهِ٣٧

   For every man, that Day, will be a matter adequate for him.

   وُجُوهٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ مُّسْفِرَةٌۭ٣٨

   [Some] faces, that Day, will be bright -

   ضَاحِكَةٌۭ مُّسْتَبْشِرَةٌۭ٣٩

   Laughing, rejoicing at good news.

   وَوُجُوهٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَلَيْهَا غَبَرَةٌۭ٤٠

   And [other] faces, that Day, will have upon them dust.

   تَرْهَقُهَا قَتَرَةٌ٤١

   Blackness will cover them.

   أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْكَفَرَةُ ٱلْفَجَرَةُ٤٢

   Those are the disbelievers, the wicked ones.
