    بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

    وَٱلْعَٰدِيَٰتِ ضَبْحًۭا١

    By the racers, panting,

    فَٱلْمُورِيَٰتِ قَدْحًۭا٢

    And the producers of sparks [when] striking

    فَٱلْمُغِيرَٰتِ صُبْحًۭا٣

    And the chargers at dawn,

    فَأَثَرْنَ بِهِۦ نَقْعًۭا٤

    Stirring up thereby [clouds of] dust,

    فَوَسَطْنَ بِهِۦ جَمْعًا٥

    Arriving thereby in the center collectively,

    إِنَّ ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ لِرَبِّهِۦ لَكَنُودٌۭ٦

    Indeed mankind, to his Lord, is ungrateful.

    وَإِنَّهُۥ عَلَىٰ ذَٰلِكَ لَشَهِيدٌۭ٧

    And indeed, he is to that a witness.

    وَإِنَّهُۥ لِحُبِّ ٱلْخَيْرِ لَشَدِيدٌ٨

    And indeed he is, in love of wealth, intense.

    ۞ أَفَلَا يَعْلَمُ إِذَا بُعْثِرَ مَا فِى ٱلْقُبُورِ٩

    But does he not know that when the contents of the graves are scattered

    وَحُصِّلَ مَا فِى ٱلصُّدُورِ١٠

    And that within the breasts is obtained,

    إِنَّ رَبَّهُم بِهِمْ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لَّخَبِيرٌۢ١١

    Indeed, their Lord with them, that Day, is [fully] Acquainted.

    بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

    ٱلْقَارِعَةُ١

    The Striking Calamity -

    مَا ٱلْقَارِعَةُ٢

    What is the Striking Calamity?

    وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلْقَارِعَةُ٣

    And what can make you know what is the Striking Calamity?

    يَوْمَ يَكُونُ ٱلنَّاسُ كَٱلْفَرَاشِ ٱلْمَبْثُوثِ٤

    It is the Day when people will be like moths, dispersed,

    وَتَكُونُ ٱلْجِبَالُ كَٱلْعِهْنِ ٱلْمَنفُوشِ٥

    And the mountains will be like wool, fluffed up.

    فَأَمَّا مَن ثَقُلَتْ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ٦

    Then as for one whose scales are heavy [with good deeds],

    فَهُوَ فِى عِيشَةٍۢ رَّاضِيَةٍۢ٧

    He will be in a pleasant life.

    وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَفَّتْ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ٨

    But as for one whose scales are light,

    فَأُمُّهُۥ هَاوِيَةٌۭ٩

    His refuge will be an abyss.

    وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا هِيَهْ١٠

    And what can make you know what that is?

    نَارٌ حَامِيَةٌۢ١١

    It is a Fire, intensely hot.

Where this comes from

Each prayer's imam, passage and recording are listed by the Haramain library, Tilawat al-Haramain (tilawatalharamain.com), usually within a few hours of the prayer. Its titles are written by hand; Hasanah reads the surahs and ayat from them.

The ayat by rak'ah come from Hasanah's live tracker, which listens to the Quran channel's broadcast from the Haram and names each ayah as it is recited. It has kept them since 25 September 2026. It can miss an ayah or mishear one, so a passage it heard may be a little shorter or longer than the one recited.

Dhuhr and Asr are prayed silently, so there is no recitation to show for them. Times are calculated for Makkah by the Umm al-Qura method.
