   Read the passage · At-Taariq

   بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

   وَٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلطَّارِقِ١

   By the sky and the night comer -

   وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلطَّارِقُ٢

   And what can make you know what is the night comer?

   ٱلنَّجْمُ ٱلثَّاقِبُ٣

   It is the piercing star -

   إِن كُلُّ نَفْسٍۢ لَّمَّا عَلَيْهَا حَافِظٌۭ٤

   There is no soul but that it has over it a protector.

   فَلْيَنظُرِ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ مِمَّ خُلِقَ٥

   So let man observe from what he was created.

   خُلِقَ مِن مَّآءٍۢ دَافِقٍۢ٦

   He was created from a fluid, ejected,

   يَخْرُجُ مِنۢ بَيْنِ ٱلصُّلْبِ وَٱلتَّرَآئِبِ٧

   Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs.

   إِنَّهُۥ عَلَىٰ رَجْعِهِۦ لَقَادِرٌۭ٨

   Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able.

   يَوْمَ تُبْلَى ٱلسَّرَآئِرُ٩

   The Day when secrets will be put on trial,

   فَمَا لَهُۥ مِن قُوَّةٍۢ وَلَا نَاصِرٍۢ١٠

   Then man will have no power or any helper.

   وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلرَّجْعِ١١

   By the sky which returns [rain]

   وَٱلْأَرْضِ ذَاتِ ٱلصَّدْعِ١٢

   And [by] the earth which cracks open,

   إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوْلٌۭ فَصْلٌۭ١٣

   Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement,

   وَمَا هُوَ بِٱلْهَزْلِ١٤

   And it is not amusement.

   إِنَّهُمْ يَكِيدُونَ كَيْدًۭا١٥

   Indeed, they are planning a plan,

   وَأَكِيدُ كَيْدًۭا١٦

   But I am planning a plan.

   فَمَهِّلِ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ أَمْهِلْهُمْ رُوَيْدًۢا١٧

   So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile.

   Read the passage · Ash-Sharh

   بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

   أَلَمْ نَشْرَحْ لَكَ صَدْرَكَ١

   Did We not expand for you, [O Muhammad], your breast?

   وَوَضَعْنَا عَنكَ وِزْرَكَ٢

   And We removed from you your burden

   ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنقَضَ ظَهْرَكَ٣

   Which had weighed upon your back

   وَرَفَعْنَا لَكَ ذِكْرَكَ٤

   And raised high for you your repute.

   فَإِنَّ مَعَ ٱلْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا٥

   For indeed, with hardship [will be] ease.

   إِنَّ مَعَ ٱلْعُسْرِ يُسْرًۭا٦

   Indeed, with hardship [will be] ease.

   فَإِذَا فَرَغْتَ فَٱنصَبْ٧

   So when you have finished [your duties], then stand up [for worship].

   وَإِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَٱرْغَب٨

   And to your Lord direct [your] longing.

3. Isha

   19:15

   Read the passage · Al-Hijr 80–99

   وَلَقَدْ كَذَّبَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْحِجْرِ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ٨٠

   And certainly did the companions of Thamud deny the messengers.

   وَءَاتَيْنَٰهُمْ ءَايَٰتِنَا فَكَانُوا۟ عَنْهَا مُعْرِضِينَ٨١

   And We gave them Our signs, but from them they were turning away.

   وَكَانُوا۟ يَنْحِتُونَ مِنَ ٱلْجِبَالِ بُيُوتًا ءَامِنِينَ٨٢

   And they used to carve from the mountains, houses, feeling secure.

   فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلصَّيْحَةُ مُصْبِحِينَ٨٣

   But the shriek seized them at early morning.

   فَمَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَكْسِبُونَ٨٤

   So nothing availed them [from] what they used to earn.

   وَمَا خَلَقْنَا ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ إِلَّا بِٱلْحَقِّ ۗ وَإِنَّ ٱلسَّاعَةَ لَءَاتِيَةٌۭ ۖ فَٱصْفَحِ ٱلصَّفْحَ ٱلْجَمِيلَ٨٥

   And We have not created the heavens and earth and that between them except in truth. And indeed, the Hour is coming; so forgive with gracious forgiveness.

   إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ ٱلْخَلَّٰقُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ٨٦

   Indeed, your Lord - He is the Knowing Creator.

   وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَٰكَ سَبْعًۭا مِّنَ ٱلْمَثَانِى وَٱلْقُرْءَانَ ٱلْعَظِيمَ٨٧

   And We have certainly given you, [O Muhammad], seven of the often repeated [verses] and the great Qur'an.

   لَا تَمُدَّنَّ عَيْنَيْكَ إِلَىٰ مَا مَتَّعْنَا بِهِۦٓ أَزْوَٰجًۭا مِّنْهُمْ وَلَا تَحْزَنْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَٱخْفِضْ جَنَاحَكَ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ٨٨

   Do not extend your eyes toward that by which We have given enjoyment to [certain] categories of the disbelievers, and do not grieve over them. And lower your wing to the believers

   وَقُلْ إِنِّىٓ أَنَا ٱلنَّذِيرُ ٱلْمُبِينُ٨٩

   And say, "Indeed, I am the clear warner" -

   كَمَآ أَنزَلْنَا عَلَى ٱلْمُقْتَسِمِينَ٩٠

   Just as We had revealed [scriptures] to the separators

   ٱلَّذِينَ جَعَلُوا۟ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ عِضِينَ٩١

   Who have made the Qur'an into portions.

   فَوَرَبِّكَ لَنَسْـَٔلَنَّهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ٩٢

   So by your Lord, We will surely question them all

   عَمَّا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ٩٣

   About what they used to do.

   فَٱصْدَعْ بِمَا تُؤْمَرُ وَأَعْرِضْ عَنِ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ٩٤

   Then declare what you are commanded and turn away from the polytheists.

   إِنَّا كَفَيْنَٰكَ ٱلْمُسْتَهْزِءِينَ٩٥

   Indeed, We are sufficient for you against the mockers

   ٱلَّذِينَ يَجْعَلُونَ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَٰهًا ءَاخَرَ ۚ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ٩٦

   Who make [equal] with Allah another deity. But they are going to know.

   وَلَقَدْ نَعْلَمُ أَنَّكَ يَضِيقُ صَدْرُكَ بِمَا يَقُولُونَ٩٧

   And We already know that your breast is constrained by what they say.

   فَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ وَكُن مِّنَ ٱلسَّٰجِدِينَ٩٨

   So exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord and be of those who prostrate [to Him].

   وَٱعْبُدْ رَبَّكَ حَتَّىٰ يَأْتِيَكَ ٱلْيَقِينُ٩٩

   And worship your Lord until there comes to you the certainty (death).

   Read the passage · An-Nahl 125–128

   ٱدْعُ إِلَىٰ سَبِيلِ رَبِّكَ بِٱلْحِكْمَةِ وَٱلْمَوْعِظَةِ ٱلْحَسَنَةِ ۖ وَجَٰدِلْهُم بِٱلَّتِى هِىَ أَحْسَنُ ۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَن ضَلَّ عَن سَبِيلِهِۦ ۖ وَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِٱلْمُهْتَدِينَ١٢٥

   Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good instruction, and argue with them in a way that is best. Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of who has strayed from His way, and He is most knowing of who is [rightly] guided.

   وَإِنْ عَاقَبْتُمْ فَعَاقِبُوا۟ بِمِثْلِ مَا عُوقِبْتُم بِهِۦ ۖ وَلَئِن صَبَرْتُمْ لَهُوَ خَيْرٌۭ لِّلصَّٰبِرِينَ١٢٦

   And if you punish [an enemy, O believers], punish with an equivalent of that with which you were harmed. But if you are patient - it is better for those who are patient.

   وَٱصْبِرْ وَمَا صَبْرُكَ إِلَّا بِٱللَّهِ ۚ وَلَا تَحْزَنْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا تَكُ فِى ضَيْقٍۢ مِّمَّا يَمْكُرُونَ١٢٧

   And be patient, [O Muhammad], and your patience is not but through Allah. And do not grieve over them and do not be in distress over what they conspire.

   إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ مَعَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوا۟ وَّٱلَّذِينَ هُم مُّحْسِنُونَ١٢٨

   Indeed, Allah is with those who fear Him and those who are doers of good.
