   Read the passage · An-Nahl 111–128

   ۞ يَوْمَ تَأْتِى كُلُّ نَفْسٍۢ تُجَٰدِلُ عَن نَّفْسِهَا وَتُوَفَّىٰ كُلُّ نَفْسٍۢ مَّا عَمِلَتْ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ١١١

   On the Day when every soul will come disputing for itself, and every soul will be fully compensated for what it did, and they will not be wronged.

   وَضَرَبَ ٱللَّهُ مَثَلًۭا قَرْيَةًۭ كَانَتْ ءَامِنَةًۭ مُّطْمَئِنَّةًۭ يَأْتِيهَا رِزْقُهَا رَغَدًۭا مِّن كُلِّ مَكَانٍۢ فَكَفَرَتْ بِأَنْعُمِ ٱللَّهِ فَأَذَٰقَهَا ٱللَّهُ لِبَاسَ ٱلْجُوعِ وَٱلْخَوْفِ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَصْنَعُونَ١١٢

   And Allah presents an example: a city which was safe and secure, its provision coming to it in abundance from every location, but it denied the favors of Allah. So Allah made it taste the envelopment of hunger and fear for what they had been doing.

   وَلَقَدْ جَآءَهُمْ رَسُولٌۭ مِّنْهُمْ فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ وَهُمْ ظَٰلِمُونَ١١٣

   And there had certainly come to them a Messenger from among themselves, but they denied him; so punishment overtook them while they were wrongdoers.

   فَكُلُوا۟ مِمَّا رَزَقَكُمُ ٱللَّهُ حَلَٰلًۭا طَيِّبًۭا وَٱشْكُرُوا۟ نِعْمَتَ ٱللَّهِ إِن كُنتُمْ إِيَّاهُ تَعْبُدُونَ١١٤

   Then eat of what Allah has provided for you [which is] lawful and good. And be grateful for the favor of Allah, if it is [indeed] Him that you worship.

   إِنَّمَا حَرَّمَ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلْمَيْتَةَ وَٱلدَّمَ وَلَحْمَ ٱلْخِنزِيرِ وَمَآ أُهِلَّ لِغَيْرِ ٱللَّهِ بِهِۦ ۖ فَمَنِ ٱضْطُرَّ غَيْرَ بَاغٍۢ وَلَا عَادٍۢ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٌۭ رَّحِيمٌۭ١١٥

   He has only forbidden to you dead animals, blood, the flesh of swine, and that which has been dedicated to other than Allah. But whoever is forced [by necessity], neither desiring [it] nor transgressing [its limit] - then indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.

   وَلَا تَقُولُوا۟ لِمَا تَصِفُ أَلْسِنَتُكُمُ ٱلْكَذِبَ هَٰذَا حَلَٰلٌۭ وَهَٰذَا حَرَامٌۭ لِّتَفْتَرُوا۟ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ٱلْكَذِبَ ۚ إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَفْتَرُونَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ٱلْكَذِبَ لَا يُفْلِحُونَ١١٦

   And do not say about what your tongues assert of untruth, "This is lawful and this is unlawful," to invent falsehood about Allah. Indeed, those who invent falsehood about Allah will not succeed.

   مَتَٰعٌۭ قَلِيلٌۭ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌۭ١١٧

   [It is but] a brief enjoyment, and they will have a painful punishment.

   وَعَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ هَادُوا۟ حَرَّمْنَا مَا قَصَصْنَا عَلَيْكَ مِن قَبْلُ ۖ وَمَا ظَلَمْنَٰهُمْ وَلَٰكِن كَانُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ١١٨

   And to those who are Jews We have prohibited that which We related to you before. And We did not wrong them [thereby], but they were wronging themselves.

   ثُمَّ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لِلَّذِينَ عَمِلُوا۟ ٱلسُّوٓءَ بِجَهَٰلَةٍۢ ثُمَّ تَابُوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدِ ذَٰلِكَ وَأَصْلَحُوٓا۟ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهَا لَغَفُورٌۭ رَّحِيمٌ١١٩

   Then, indeed your Lord, to those who have done wrong out of ignorance and then repent after that and correct themselves - indeed, your Lord, thereafter, is Forgiving and Merciful.

   إِنَّ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ كَانَ أُمَّةًۭ قَانِتًۭا لِّلَّهِ حَنِيفًۭا وَلَمْ يَكُ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ١٢٠

   Indeed, Abraham was a [comprehensive] leader, devoutly obedient to Allah, inclining toward truth, and he was not of those who associate others with Allah.

   شَاكِرًۭا لِّأَنْعُمِهِ ۚ ٱجْتَبَىٰهُ وَهَدَىٰهُ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍۢ مُّسْتَقِيمٍۢ١٢١

   [He was] grateful for His favors. Allah chose him and guided him to a straight path.

   وَءَاتَيْنَٰهُ فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةًۭ ۖ وَإِنَّهُۥ فِى ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ لَمِنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ١٢٢

   And We gave him good in this world, and indeed, in the Hereafter he will be among the righteous.

   ثُمَّ أَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْكَ أَنِ ٱتَّبِعْ مِلَّةَ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ حَنِيفًۭا ۖ وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ١٢٣

   Then We revealed to you, [O Muhammad], to follow the religion of Abraham, inclining toward truth; and he was not of those who associate with Allah.

   إِنَّمَا جُعِلَ ٱلسَّبْتُ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ ٱخْتَلَفُوا۟ فِيهِ ۚ وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَيَحْكُمُ بَيْنَهُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ فِيمَا كَانُوا۟ فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ١٢٤

   The sabbath was only appointed for those who differed over it. And indeed, your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that over which they used to differ.

   ٱدْعُ إِلَىٰ سَبِيلِ رَبِّكَ بِٱلْحِكْمَةِ وَٱلْمَوْعِظَةِ ٱلْحَسَنَةِ ۖ وَجَٰدِلْهُم بِٱلَّتِى هِىَ أَحْسَنُ ۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَن ضَلَّ عَن سَبِيلِهِۦ ۖ وَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِٱلْمُهْتَدِينَ١٢٥

   Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good instruction, and argue with them in a way that is best. Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of who has strayed from His way, and He is most knowing of who is [rightly] guided.

   وَإِنْ عَاقَبْتُمْ فَعَاقِبُوا۟ بِمِثْلِ مَا عُوقِبْتُم بِهِۦ ۖ وَلَئِن صَبَرْتُمْ لَهُوَ خَيْرٌۭ لِّلصَّٰبِرِينَ١٢٦

   And if you punish [an enemy, O believers], punish with an equivalent of that with which you were harmed. But if you are patient - it is better for those who are patient.

   وَٱصْبِرْ وَمَا صَبْرُكَ إِلَّا بِٱللَّهِ ۚ وَلَا تَحْزَنْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا تَكُ فِى ضَيْقٍۢ مِّمَّا يَمْكُرُونَ١٢٧

   And be patient, [O Muhammad], and your patience is not but through Allah. And do not grieve over them and do not be in distress over what they conspire.

   إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ مَعَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوا۟ وَّٱلَّذِينَ هُم مُّحْسِنُونَ١٢٨

   Indeed, Allah is with those who fear Him and those who are doers of good.

2. Maghrib

   Read the passage · Al-Maa'un

   بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

   أَرَءَيْتَ ٱلَّذِى يُكَذِّبُ بِٱلدِّينِ١

   Have you seen the one who denies the Recompense?

   فَذَٰلِكَ ٱلَّذِى يَدُعُّ ٱلْيَتِيمَ٢

   For that is the one who drives away the orphan

   وَلَا يَحُضُّ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ ٱلْمِسْكِينِ٣

   And does not encourage the feeding of the poor.

   فَوَيْلٌۭ لِّلْمُصَلِّينَ٤

   So woe to those who pray

   ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ عَن صَلَاتِهِمْ سَاهُونَ٥

   [But] who are heedless of their prayer -

   ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ يُرَآءُونَ٦

   Those who make show [of their deeds]

   وَيَمْنَعُونَ ٱلْمَاعُونَ٧

   And withhold [simple] assistance.

   Read the passage · Al-Fil

   بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

   أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِأَصْحَٰبِ ٱلْفِيلِ١

   Have you not considered, [O Muhammad], how your Lord dealt with the companions of the elephant?

   أَلَمْ يَجْعَلْ كَيْدَهُمْ فِى تَضْلِيلٍۢ٢

   Did He not make their plan into misguidance?

   وَأَرْسَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ طَيْرًا أَبَابِيلَ٣

   And He sent against them birds in flocks,

   تَرْمِيهِم بِحِجَارَةٍۢ مِّن سِجِّيلٍۢ٤

   Striking them with stones of hard clay,

   فَجَعَلَهُمْ كَعَصْفٍۢ مَّأْكُولٍۭ٥

   And He made them like eaten straw.

3. Isha

   19:30

   Read the passage · An-Naazi'aat

   بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

   وَٱلنَّٰزِعَٰتِ غَرْقًۭا١

   By those [angels] who extract with violence

   وَٱلنَّٰشِطَٰتِ نَشْطًۭا٢

   And [by] those who remove with ease

   وَٱلسَّٰبِحَٰتِ سَبْحًۭا٣

   And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming

   فَٱلسَّٰبِقَٰتِ سَبْقًۭا٤

   And those who race each other in a race

   فَٱلْمُدَبِّرَٰتِ أَمْرًۭا٥

   And those who arrange [each] matter,

   يَوْمَ تَرْجُفُ ٱلرَّاجِفَةُ٦

   On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation],

   تَتْبَعُهَا ٱلرَّادِفَةُ٧

   There will follow it the subsequent [one].

   قُلُوبٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ وَاجِفَةٌ٨

   Hearts, that Day, will tremble,

   أَبْصَٰرُهَا خَٰشِعَةٌۭ٩

   Their eyes humbled.

   يَقُولُونَ أَءِنَّا لَمَرْدُودُونَ فِى ٱلْحَافِرَةِ١٠

   They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]?

   أَءِذَا كُنَّا عِظَٰمًۭا نَّخِرَةًۭ١١

   Even if we should be decayed bones?

   قَالُوا۟ تِلْكَ إِذًۭا كَرَّةٌ خَاسِرَةٌۭ١٢

   They say, "That, then, would be a losing return."

   فَإِنَّمَا هِىَ زَجْرَةٌۭ وَٰحِدَةٌۭ١٣

   Indeed, it will be but one shout,

   فَإِذَا هُم بِٱلسَّاهِرَةِ١٤

   And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface.

   هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ مُوسَىٰٓ١٥

   Has there reached you the story of Moses? -

   إِذْ نَادَىٰهُ رَبُّهُۥ بِٱلْوَادِ ٱلْمُقَدَّسِ طُوًى١٦

   When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa,

   ٱذْهَبْ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّهُۥ طَغَىٰ١٧

   "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed.

   فَقُلْ هَل لَّكَ إِلَىٰٓ أَن تَزَكَّىٰ١٨

   And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself

   وَأَهْدِيَكَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَتَخْشَىٰ١٩

   And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'"

   فَأَرَىٰهُ ٱلْءَايَةَ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ٢٠

   And he showed him the greatest sign,

   فَكَذَّبَ وَعَصَىٰ٢١

   But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed.

   ثُمَّ أَدْبَرَ يَسْعَىٰ٢٢

   Then he turned his back, striving.

   فَحَشَرَ فَنَادَىٰ٢٣

   And he gathered [his people] and called out

   فَقَالَ أَنَا۠ رَبُّكُمُ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ٢٤

   And said, "I am your most exalted lord."

   فَأَخَذَهُ ٱللَّهُ نَكَالَ ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ وَٱلْأُولَىٰٓ٢٥

   So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression].

   إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَعِبْرَةًۭ لِّمَن يَخْشَىٰٓ٢٦

   Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah].

   ءَأَنتُمْ أَشَدُّ خَلْقًا أَمِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ ۚ بَنَىٰهَا٢٧

   Are you a more difficult creation or is the heaven? Allah constructed it.

   رَفَعَ سَمْكَهَا فَسَوَّىٰهَا٢٨

   He raised its ceiling and proportioned it.

   وَأَغْطَشَ لَيْلَهَا وَأَخْرَجَ ضُحَىٰهَا٢٩

   And He darkened its night and extracted its brightness.

   وَٱلْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ دَحَىٰهَآ٣٠

   And after that He spread the earth.

   أَخْرَجَ مِنْهَا مَآءَهَا وَمَرْعَىٰهَا٣١

   He extracted from it its water and its pasture,

   وَٱلْجِبَالَ أَرْسَىٰهَا٣٢

   And the mountains He set firmly

   مَتَٰعًۭا لَّكُمْ وَلِأَنْعَٰمِكُمْ٣٣

   As provision for you and your grazing livestock.

   فَإِذَا جَآءَتِ ٱلطَّآمَّةُ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ٣٤

   But when there comes the greatest Overwhelming Calamity -

   يَوْمَ يَتَذَكَّرُ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ مَا سَعَىٰ٣٥

   The Day when man will remember that for which he strove,

   وَبُرِّزَتِ ٱلْجَحِيمُ لِمَن يَرَىٰ٣٦

   And Hellfire will be exposed for [all] those who see -

   فَأَمَّا مَن طَغَىٰ٣٧

   So as for he who transgressed

   وَءَاثَرَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا٣٨

   And preferred the life of the world,

   فَإِنَّ ٱلْجَحِيمَ هِىَ ٱلْمَأْوَىٰ٣٩

   Then indeed, Hellfire will be [his] refuge.

   وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِۦ وَنَهَى ٱلنَّفْسَ عَنِ ٱلْهَوَىٰ٤٠

   But as for he who feared the position of his Lord and prevented the soul from [unlawful] inclination,
