   Read the passage · Saad 41–88

   وَٱذْكُرْ عَبْدَنَآ أَيُّوبَ إِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبَّهُۥٓ أَنِّى مَسَّنِىَ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ بِنُصْبٍۢ وَعَذَابٍ٤١

   And remember Our servant Job, when he called to his Lord, "Indeed, Satan has touched me with hardship and torment."

   ٱرْكُضْ بِرِجْلِكَ ۖ هَٰذَا مُغْتَسَلٌۢ بَارِدٌۭ وَشَرَابٌۭ٤٢

   [So he was told], "Strike [the ground] with your foot; this is a [spring for] a cool bath and drink."

   وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُۥٓ أَهْلَهُۥ وَمِثْلَهُم مَّعَهُمْ رَحْمَةًۭ مِّنَّا وَذِكْرَىٰ لِأُو۟لِى ٱلْأَلْبَٰبِ٤٣

   And We granted him his family and a like [number] with them as mercy from Us and a reminder for those of understanding.

   وَخُذْ بِيَدِكَ ضِغْثًۭا فَٱضْرِب بِّهِۦ وَلَا تَحْنَثْ ۗ إِنَّا وَجَدْنَٰهُ صَابِرًۭا ۚ نِّعْمَ ٱلْعَبْدُ ۖ إِنَّهُۥٓ أَوَّابٌۭ٤٤

   [We said], "And take in your hand a bunch [of grass] and strike with it and do not break your oath." Indeed, We found him patient, an excellent servant. Indeed, he was one repeatedly turning back [to Allah].

   وَٱذْكُرْ عِبَٰدَنَآ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَإِسْحَٰقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ أُو۟لِى ٱلْأَيْدِى وَٱلْأَبْصَٰرِ٤٥

   And remember Our servants, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - those of strength and [religious] vision.

   إِنَّآ أَخْلَصْنَٰهُم بِخَالِصَةٍۢ ذِكْرَى ٱلدَّارِ٤٦

   Indeed, We chose them for an exclusive quality: remembrance of the home [of the Hereafter].

   وَإِنَّهُمْ عِندَنَا لَمِنَ ٱلْمُصْطَفَيْنَ ٱلْأَخْيَارِ٤٧

   And indeed they are, to Us, among the chosen and outstanding.

   وَٱذْكُرْ إِسْمَٰعِيلَ وَٱلْيَسَعَ وَذَا ٱلْكِفْلِ ۖ وَكُلٌّۭ مِّنَ ٱلْأَخْيَارِ٤٨

   And remember Ishmael, Elisha and Dhul-Kifl, and all are among the outstanding.

   هَٰذَا ذِكْرٌۭ ۚ وَإِنَّ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ لَحُسْنَ مَـَٔابٍۢ٤٩

   This is a reminder. And indeed, for the righteous is a good place of return

   جَنَّٰتِ عَدْنٍۢ مُّفَتَّحَةًۭ لَّهُمُ ٱلْأَبْوَٰبُ٥٠

   Gardens of perpetual residence, whose doors will be opened to them.

   مُتَّكِـِٔينَ فِيهَا يَدْعُونَ فِيهَا بِفَٰكِهَةٍۢ كَثِيرَةٍۢ وَشَرَابٍۢ٥١

   Reclining within them, they will call therein for abundant fruit and drink.

   ۞ وَعِندَهُمْ قَٰصِرَٰتُ ٱلطَّرْفِ أَتْرَابٌ٥٢

   And with them will be women limiting [their] glances and of equal age.

   هَٰذَا مَا تُوعَدُونَ لِيَوْمِ ٱلْحِسَابِ٥٣

   This is what you, [the righteous], are promised for the Day of Account.

   إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَرِزْقُنَا مَا لَهُۥ مِن نَّفَادٍ٥٤

   Indeed, this is Our provision; for it there is no depletion.

   هَٰذَا ۚ وَإِنَّ لِلطَّٰغِينَ لَشَرَّ مَـَٔابٍۢ٥٥

   This [is so]. But indeed, for the transgressors is an evil place of return -

   جَهَنَّمَ يَصْلَوْنَهَا فَبِئْسَ ٱلْمِهَادُ٥٦

   Hell, which they will [enter to] burn, and wretched is the resting place.

   هَٰذَا فَلْيَذُوقُوهُ حَمِيمٌۭ وَغَسَّاقٌۭ٥٧

   This - so let them taste it - is scalding water and [foul] purulence.

   وَءَاخَرُ مِن شَكْلِهِۦٓ أَزْوَٰجٌ٥٨

   And other [punishments] of its type [in various] kinds.

   هَٰذَا فَوْجٌۭ مُّقْتَحِمٌۭ مَّعَكُمْ ۖ لَا مَرْحَبًۢا بِهِمْ ۚ إِنَّهُمْ صَالُوا۟ ٱلنَّارِ٥٩

   [Its inhabitants will say], "This is a company bursting in with you. No welcome for them. Indeed, they will burn in the Fire."

   قَالُوا۟ بَلْ أَنتُمْ لَا مَرْحَبًۢا بِكُمْ ۖ أَنتُمْ قَدَّمْتُمُوهُ لَنَا ۖ فَبِئْسَ ٱلْقَرَارُ٦٠

   They will say, "Nor you! No welcome for you. You, [our leaders], brought this upon us, and wretched is the settlement."

   قَالُوا۟ رَبَّنَا مَن قَدَّمَ لَنَا هَٰذَا فَزِدْهُ عَذَابًۭا ضِعْفًۭا فِى ٱلنَّارِ٦١

   They will say, "Our Lord, whoever brought this upon us - increase for him double punishment in the Fire."

   وَقَالُوا۟ مَا لَنَا لَا نَرَىٰ رِجَالًۭا كُنَّا نَعُدُّهُم مِّنَ ٱلْأَشْرَارِ٦٢

   And they will say, "Why do we not see men whom we used to count among the worst?

   أَتَّخَذْنَٰهُمْ سِخْرِيًّا أَمْ زَاغَتْ عَنْهُمُ ٱلْأَبْصَٰرُ٦٣

   Is it [because] we took them in ridicule, or has [our] vision turned away from them?"

   إِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ لَحَقٌّۭ تَخَاصُمُ أَهْلِ ٱلنَّارِ٦٤

   Indeed, that is truth - the quarreling of the people of the Fire.

   قُلْ إِنَّمَآ أَنَا۠ مُنذِرٌۭ ۖ وَمَا مِنْ إِلَٰهٍ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ ٱلْوَٰحِدُ ٱلْقَهَّارُ٦٥

   Say, [O Muhammad], "I am only a warner, and there is not any deity except Allah, the One, the Prevailing.

   رَبُّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْغَفَّٰرُ٦٦

   Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them, the Exalted in Might, the Perpetual Forgiver."

   قُلْ هُوَ نَبَؤٌا۟ عَظِيمٌ٦٧

   Say, "It is great news

   أَنتُمْ عَنْهُ مُعْرِضُونَ٦٨

   From which you turn away.

   مَا كَانَ لِىَ مِنْ عِلْمٍۭ بِٱلْمَلَإِ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰٓ إِذْ يَخْتَصِمُونَ٦٩

   I had no knowledge of the exalted assembly [of angels] when they were disputing [the creation of Adam].

   إِن يُوحَىٰٓ إِلَىَّ إِلَّآ أَنَّمَآ أَنَا۠ نَذِيرٌۭ مُّبِينٌ٧٠

   It has not been revealed to me except that I am a clear warner."

   إِذْ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ إِنِّى خَٰلِقٌۢ بَشَرًۭا مِّن طِينٍۢ٧١

   [So mention] when your Lord said to the angels, "Indeed, I am going to create a human being from clay.

   فَإِذَا سَوَّيْتُهُۥ وَنَفَخْتُ فِيهِ مِن رُّوحِى فَقَعُوا۟ لَهُۥ سَٰجِدِينَ٧٢

   So when I have proportioned him and breathed into him of My [created] soul, then fall down to him in prostration."

   فَسَجَدَ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ كُلُّهُمْ أَجْمَعُونَ٧٣

   So the angels prostrated - all of them entirely.

   إِلَّآ إِبْلِيسَ ٱسْتَكْبَرَ وَكَانَ مِنَ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ٧٤

   Except Iblees; he was arrogant and became among the disbelievers.

   قَالَ يَٰٓإِبْلِيسُ مَا مَنَعَكَ أَن تَسْجُدَ لِمَا خَلَقْتُ بِيَدَىَّ ۖ أَسْتَكْبَرْتَ أَمْ كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلْعَالِينَ٧٥

   [Allah] said, "O Iblees, what prevented you from prostrating to that which I created with My hands? Were you arrogant [then], or were you [already] among the haughty?"

   قَالَ أَنَا۠ خَيْرٌۭ مِّنْهُ ۖ خَلَقْتَنِى مِن نَّارٍۢ وَخَلَقْتَهُۥ مِن طِينٍۢ٧٦

   He said, "I am better than him. You created me from fire and created him from clay."

   قَالَ فَٱخْرُجْ مِنْهَا فَإِنَّكَ رَجِيمٌۭ٧٧

   [Allah] said, "Then get out of Paradise, for indeed, you are expelled.

   وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكَ لَعْنَتِىٓ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلدِّينِ٧٨

   And indeed, upon you is My curse until the Day of Recompense."

   قَالَ رَبِّ فَأَنظِرْنِىٓ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ٧٩

   He said, "My Lord, then reprieve me until the Day they are resurrected."

   قَالَ فَإِنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلْمُنظَرِينَ٨٠

   [Allah] said, "So indeed, you are of those reprieved

2. Maghrib

   18:52

   Ad-Dhuhaa and Al-Kawthar

   Read the passage · Ad-Dhuhaa

   بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

   وَٱلضُّحَىٰ١

   By the morning brightness

   وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا سَجَىٰ٢

   And [by] the night when it covers with darkness,

   مَا وَدَّعَكَ رَبُّكَ وَمَا قَلَىٰ٣

   Your Lord has not taken leave of you, [O Muhammad], nor has He detested [you].

   وَلَلْءَاخِرَةُ خَيْرٌۭ لَّكَ مِنَ ٱلْأُولَىٰ٤

   And the Hereafter is better for you than the first [life].

   وَلَسَوْفَ يُعْطِيكَ رَبُّكَ فَتَرْضَىٰٓ٥

   And your Lord is going to give you, and you will be satisfied.

   أَلَمْ يَجِدْكَ يَتِيمًۭا فَـَٔاوَىٰ٦

   Did He not find you an orphan and give [you] refuge?

   وَوَجَدَكَ ضَآلًّۭا فَهَدَىٰ٧

   And He found you lost and guided [you],

   وَوَجَدَكَ عَآئِلًۭا فَأَغْنَىٰ٨

   And He found you poor and made [you] self-sufficient.

   فَأَمَّا ٱلْيَتِيمَ فَلَا تَقْهَرْ٩

   So as for the orphan, do not oppress [him].

   وَأَمَّا ٱلسَّآئِلَ فَلَا تَنْهَرْ١٠

   And as for the petitioner, do not repel [him].

   وَأَمَّا بِنِعْمَةِ رَبِّكَ فَحَدِّثْ١١

   But as for the favor of your Lord, report [it].

   Read the passage · Al-Kawthar

   بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

   إِنَّآ أَعْطَيْنَٰكَ ٱلْكَوْثَرَ١

   Indeed, We have granted you, [O Muhammad], al-Kawthar.

   فَصَلِّ لِرَبِّكَ وَٱنْحَرْ٢

   So pray to your Lord and sacrifice [to Him alone].

   إِنَّ شَانِئَكَ هُوَ ٱلْأَبْتَرُ٣

   Indeed, your enemy is the one cut off.

   Read the passage · Al-Burooj

   بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

   وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلْبُرُوجِ١

   By the sky containing great stars

   وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْمَوْعُودِ٢

   And [by] the promised Day

   وَشَاهِدٍۢ وَمَشْهُودٍۢ٣

   And [by] the witness and what is witnessed,

   قُتِلَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْأُخْدُودِ٤

   Cursed were the companions of the trench

   ٱلنَّارِ ذَاتِ ٱلْوَقُودِ٥

   [Containing] the fire full of fuel,

   إِذْ هُمْ عَلَيْهَا قُعُودٌۭ٦

   When they were sitting near it

   وَهُمْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَفْعَلُونَ بِٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ شُهُودٌۭ٧

   And they, to what they were doing against the believers, were witnesses.

   وَمَا نَقَمُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ إِلَّآ أَن يُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلْحَمِيدِ٨

   And they resented them not except because they believed in Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy,

   ٱلَّذِى لَهُۥ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ شَهِيدٌ٩

   To whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. And Allah, over all things, is Witness.

   إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ فَتَنُوا۟ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَتُوبُوا۟ فَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ ٱلْحَرِيقِ١٠

   Indeed, those who have tortured the believing men and believing women and then have not repented will have the punishment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the Burning Fire.

   إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ لَهُمْ جَنَّٰتٌۭ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْكَبِيرُ١١

   Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds will have gardens beneath which rivers flow. That is the great attainment.

   إِنَّ بَطْشَ رَبِّكَ لَشَدِيدٌ١٢

   Indeed, the vengeance of your Lord is severe.

   إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ يُبْدِئُ وَيُعِيدُ١٣

   Indeed, it is He who originates [creation] and repeats.

   وَهُوَ ٱلْغَفُورُ ٱلْوَدُودُ١٤

   And He is the Forgiving, the Affectionate,

   ذُو ٱلْعَرْشِ ٱلْمَجِيدُ١٥

   Honorable Owner of the Throne,

   فَعَّالٌۭ لِّمَا يُرِيدُ١٦

   Effecter of what He intends.

   هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ٱلْجُنُودِ١٧

   Has there reached you the story of the soldiers -

   فِرْعَوْنَ وَثَمُودَ١٨

   [Those of] Pharaoh and Thamud?

   بَلِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ فِى تَكْذِيبٍۢ١٩

   But they who disbelieve are in [persistent] denial,

   وَٱللَّهُ مِن وَرَآئِهِم مُّحِيطٌۢ٢٠

   While Allah encompasses them from behind.

   بَلْ هُوَ قُرْءَانٌۭ مَّجِيدٌۭ٢١

   But this is an honored Qur'an

   فِى لَوْحٍۢ مَّحْفُوظٍۭ٢٢

   [Inscribed] in a Preserved Slate.

   Read the passage · At-Taariq

   بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

   وَٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلطَّارِقِ١

   By the sky and the night comer -

   وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلطَّارِقُ٢

   And what can make you know what is the night comer?

   ٱلنَّجْمُ ٱلثَّاقِبُ٣

   It is the piercing star -

   إِن كُلُّ نَفْسٍۢ لَّمَّا عَلَيْهَا حَافِظٌۭ٤

   There is no soul but that it has over it a protector.

   فَلْيَنظُرِ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ مِمَّ خُلِقَ٥

   So let man observe from what he was created.

   خُلِقَ مِن مَّآءٍۢ دَافِقٍۢ٦

   He was created from a fluid, ejected,

   يَخْرُجُ مِنۢ بَيْنِ ٱلصُّلْبِ وَٱلتَّرَآئِبِ٧

   Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs.

   إِنَّهُۥ عَلَىٰ رَجْعِهِۦ لَقَادِرٌۭ٨

   Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able.

   يَوْمَ تُبْلَى ٱلسَّرَآئِرُ٩

   The Day when secrets will be put on trial,

   فَمَا لَهُۥ مِن قُوَّةٍۢ وَلَا نَاصِرٍۢ١٠

   Then man will have no power or any helper.

   وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلرَّجْعِ١١

   By the sky which returns [rain]

   وَٱلْأَرْضِ ذَاتِ ٱلصَّدْعِ١٢

   And [by] the earth which cracks open,

   إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوْلٌۭ فَصْلٌۭ١٣

   Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement,

   وَمَا هُوَ بِٱلْهَزْلِ١٤

   And it is not amusement.

   إِنَّهُمْ يَكِيدُونَ كَيْدًۭا١٥

   Indeed, they are planning a plan,

   وَأَكِيدُ كَيْدًۭا١٦

   But I am planning a plan.

   فَمَهِّلِ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ أَمْهِلْهُمْ رُوَيْدًۢا١٧

   So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile.
