   Read the passage · Al-Munaafiqoon

   بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

   إِذَا جَآءَكَ ٱلْمُنَٰفِقُونَ قَالُوا۟ نَشْهَدُ إِنَّكَ لَرَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ إِنَّكَ لَرَسُولُهُۥ وَٱللَّهُ يَشْهَدُ إِنَّ ٱلْمُنَٰفِقِينَ لَكَٰذِبُونَ١

   When the hypocrites come to you, [O Muhammad], they say, "We testify that you are the Messenger of Allah." And Allah knows that you are His Messenger, and Allah testifies that the hypocrites are liars.

   ٱتَّخَذُوٓا۟ أَيْمَٰنَهُمْ جُنَّةًۭ فَصَدُّوا۟ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّهُمْ سَآءَ مَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ٢

   They have taken their oaths as a cover, so they averted [people] from the way of Allah. Indeed, it was evil that they were doing.

   ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ ءَامَنُوا۟ ثُمَّ كَفَرُوا۟ فَطُبِعَ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ فَهُمْ لَا يَفْقَهُونَ٣

   That is because they believed, and then they disbelieved; so their hearts were sealed over, and they do not understand.

   ۞ وَإِذَا رَأَيْتَهُمْ تُعْجِبُكَ أَجْسَامُهُمْ ۖ وَإِن يَقُولُوا۟ تَسْمَعْ لِقَوْلِهِمْ ۖ كَأَنَّهُمْ خُشُبٌۭ مُّسَنَّدَةٌۭ ۖ يَحْسَبُونَ كُلَّ صَيْحَةٍ عَلَيْهِمْ ۚ هُمُ ٱلْعَدُوُّ فَٱحْذَرْهُمْ ۚ قَٰتَلَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ ۖ أَنَّىٰ يُؤْفَكُونَ٤

   And when you see them, their forms please you, and if they speak, you listen to their speech. [They are] as if they were pieces of wood propped up - they think that every shout is against them. They are the enemy, so beware of them. May Allah destroy them; how are they deluded?

   وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ تَعَالَوْا۟ يَسْتَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ رَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ لَوَّوْا۟ رُءُوسَهُمْ وَرَأَيْتَهُمْ يَصُدُّونَ وَهُم مُّسْتَكْبِرُونَ٥

   And when it is said to them, "Come, the Messenger of Allah will ask forgiveness for you," they turn their heads aside and you see them evading while they are arrogant.

   سَوَآءٌ عَلَيْهِمْ أَسْتَغْفَرْتَ لَهُمْ أَمْ لَمْ تَسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُمْ لَن يَغْفِرَ ٱللَّهُ لَهُمْ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَهْدِى ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلْفَٰسِقِينَ٦

   It is all the same for them whether you ask forgiveness for them or do not ask forgiveness for them; never will Allah forgive them. Indeed, Allah does not guide the defiantly disobedient people.

   هُمُ ٱلَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ لَا تُنفِقُوا۟ عَلَىٰ مَنْ عِندَ رَسُولِ ٱللَّهِ حَتَّىٰ يَنفَضُّوا۟ ۗ وَلِلَّهِ خَزَآئِنُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱلْمُنَٰفِقِينَ لَا يَفْقَهُونَ٧

   They are the ones who say, "Do not spend on those who are with the Messenger of Allah until they disband." And to Allah belongs the depositories of the heavens and the earth, but the hypocrites do not understand.

   يَقُولُونَ لَئِن رَّجَعْنَآ إِلَى ٱلْمَدِينَةِ لَيُخْرِجَنَّ ٱلْأَعَزُّ مِنْهَا ٱلْأَذَلَّ ۚ وَلِلَّهِ ٱلْعِزَّةُ وَلِرَسُولِهِۦ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱلْمُنَٰفِقِينَ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ٨

   They say, "If we return to al-Madinah, the more honored [for power] will surely expel therefrom the more humble." And to Allah belongs [all] honor, and to His Messenger, and to the believers, but the hypocrites do not know.

   يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تُلْهِكُمْ أَمْوَٰلُكُمْ وَلَآ أَوْلَٰدُكُمْ عَن ذِكْرِ ٱللَّهِ ۚ وَمَن يَفْعَلْ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْخَٰسِرُونَ٩

   O you who have believed, let not your wealth and your children divert you from remembrance of Allah. And whoever does that - then those are the losers.

   وَأَنفِقُوا۟ مِن مَّا رَزَقْنَٰكُم مِّن قَبْلِ أَن يَأْتِىَ أَحَدَكُمُ ٱلْمَوْتُ فَيَقُولَ رَبِّ لَوْلَآ أَخَّرْتَنِىٓ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍۢ قَرِيبٍۢ فَأَصَّدَّقَ وَأَكُن مِّنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ١٠

   And spend [in the way of Allah] from what We have provided you before death approaches one of you and he says, "My Lord, if only You would delay me for a brief term so I would give charity and be among the righteous."

   وَلَن يُؤَخِّرَ ٱللَّهُ نَفْسًا إِذَا جَآءَ أَجَلُهَا ۚ وَٱللَّهُ خَبِيرٌۢ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ١١

   But never will Allah delay a soul when its time has come. And Allah is Acquainted with what you do.

   Read the passage · An-Naazi'aat 27–46

   ءَأَنتُمْ أَشَدُّ خَلْقًا أَمِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ ۚ بَنَىٰهَا٢٧

   Are you a more difficult creation or is the heaven? Allah constructed it.

   رَفَعَ سَمْكَهَا فَسَوَّىٰهَا٢٨

   He raised its ceiling and proportioned it.

   وَأَغْطَشَ لَيْلَهَا وَأَخْرَجَ ضُحَىٰهَا٢٩

   And He darkened its night and extracted its brightness.

   وَٱلْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ دَحَىٰهَآ٣٠

   And after that He spread the earth.

   أَخْرَجَ مِنْهَا مَآءَهَا وَمَرْعَىٰهَا٣١

   He extracted from it its water and its pasture,

   وَٱلْجِبَالَ أَرْسَىٰهَا٣٢

   And the mountains He set firmly

   مَتَٰعًۭا لَّكُمْ وَلِأَنْعَٰمِكُمْ٣٣

   As provision for you and your grazing livestock.

   فَإِذَا جَآءَتِ ٱلطَّآمَّةُ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ٣٤

   But when there comes the greatest Overwhelming Calamity -

   يَوْمَ يَتَذَكَّرُ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ مَا سَعَىٰ٣٥

   The Day when man will remember that for which he strove,

   وَبُرِّزَتِ ٱلْجَحِيمُ لِمَن يَرَىٰ٣٦

   And Hellfire will be exposed for [all] those who see -

   فَأَمَّا مَن طَغَىٰ٣٧

   So as for he who transgressed

   وَءَاثَرَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا٣٨

   And preferred the life of the world,

   فَإِنَّ ٱلْجَحِيمَ هِىَ ٱلْمَأْوَىٰ٣٩

   Then indeed, Hellfire will be [his] refuge.

   وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِۦ وَنَهَى ٱلنَّفْسَ عَنِ ٱلْهَوَىٰ٤٠

   But as for he who feared the position of his Lord and prevented the soul from [unlawful] inclination,

   فَإِنَّ ٱلْجَنَّةَ هِىَ ٱلْمَأْوَىٰ٤١

   Then indeed, Paradise will be [his] refuge.

   يَسْـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلسَّاعَةِ أَيَّانَ مُرْسَىٰهَا٤٢

   They ask you, [O Muhammad], about the Hour: when is its arrival?

   فِيمَ أَنتَ مِن ذِكْرَىٰهَآ٤٣

   In what [position] are you that you should mention it?

   إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ مُنتَهَىٰهَآ٤٤

   To your Lord is its finality.

   إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مُنذِرُ مَن يَخْشَىٰهَا٤٥

   You are only a warner for those who fear it.

   كَأَنَّهُمْ يَوْمَ يَرَوْنَهَا لَمْ يَلْبَثُوٓا۟ إِلَّا عَشِيَّةً أَوْ ضُحَىٰهَا٤٦

   It will be, on the Day they see it, as though they had not remained [in the world] except for an afternoon or a morning thereof.

   Read the passage · Al-Falaq

   بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

   قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ ٱلْفَلَقِ١

   Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreak

   مِن شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ٢

   From the evil of that which He created

   وَمِن شَرِّ غَاسِقٍ إِذَا وَقَبَ٣

   And from the evil of darkness when it settles

   وَمِن شَرِّ ٱلنَّفَّٰثَٰتِ فِى ٱلْعُقَدِ٤

   And from the evil of the blowers in knots

   وَمِن شَرِّ حَاسِدٍ إِذَا حَسَدَ٥

   And from the evil of an envier when he envies."

3. Isha

   20:36

   Read the passage · Maryam 77–98

   أَفَرَءَيْتَ ٱلَّذِى كَفَرَ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَقَالَ لَأُوتَيَنَّ مَالًۭا وَوَلَدًا٧٧

   Then, have you seen he who disbelieved in Our verses and said, "I will surely be given wealth and children [in the next life]?"

   أَطَّلَعَ ٱلْغَيْبَ أَمِ ٱتَّخَذَ عِندَ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ عَهْدًۭا٧٨

   Has he looked into the unseen, or has he taken from the Most Merciful a promise?

   كَلَّا ۚ سَنَكْتُبُ مَا يَقُولُ وَنَمُدُّ لَهُۥ مِنَ ٱلْعَذَابِ مَدًّۭا٧٩

   No! We will record what he says and extend for him from the punishment extensively.

   وَنَرِثُهُۥ مَا يَقُولُ وَيَأْتِينَا فَرْدًۭا٨٠

   And We will inherit him [in] what he mentions, and he will come to Us alone.

   وَٱتَّخَذُوا۟ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ ءَالِهَةًۭ لِّيَكُونُوا۟ لَهُمْ عِزًّۭا٨١

   And they have taken besides Allah [false] deities that they would be for them [a source of] honor.

   كَلَّا ۚ سَيَكْفُرُونَ بِعِبَادَتِهِمْ وَيَكُونُونَ عَلَيْهِمْ ضِدًّا٨٢

   No! Those "gods" will deny their worship of them and will be against them opponents [on the Day of Judgement].

   أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّآ أَرْسَلْنَا ٱلشَّيَٰطِينَ عَلَى ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ تَؤُزُّهُمْ أَزًّۭا٨٣

   Do you not see that We have sent the devils upon the disbelievers, inciting them to [evil] with [constant] incitement?

   فَلَا تَعْجَلْ عَلَيْهِمْ ۖ إِنَّمَا نَعُدُّ لَهُمْ عَدًّۭا٨٤

   So be not impatient over them. We only count out to them a [limited] number.

   يَوْمَ نَحْشُرُ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ إِلَى ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ وَفْدًۭا٨٥

   On the Day We will gather the righteous to the Most Merciful as a delegation

   وَنَسُوقُ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ إِلَىٰ جَهَنَّمَ وِرْدًۭا٨٦

   And will drive the criminals to Hell in thirst

   لَّا يَمْلِكُونَ ٱلشَّفَٰعَةَ إِلَّا مَنِ ٱتَّخَذَ عِندَ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ عَهْدًۭا٨٧

   None will have [power of] intercession except he who had taken from the Most Merciful a covenant.

   وَقَالُوا۟ ٱتَّخَذَ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ وَلَدًۭا٨٨

   And they say, "The Most Merciful has taken [for Himself] a son."

   لَّقَدْ جِئْتُمْ شَيْـًٔا إِدًّۭا٨٩

   You have done an atrocious thing.

   تَكَادُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتُ يَتَفَطَّرْنَ مِنْهُ وَتَنشَقُّ ٱلْأَرْضُ وَتَخِرُّ ٱلْجِبَالُ هَدًّا٩٠

   The heavens almost rupture therefrom and the earth splits open and the mountains collapse in devastation

   أَن دَعَوْا۟ لِلرَّحْمَٰنِ وَلَدًۭا٩١

   That they attribute to the Most Merciful a son.

   وَمَا يَنۢبَغِى لِلرَّحْمَٰنِ أَن يَتَّخِذَ وَلَدًا٩٢

   And it is not appropriate for the Most Merciful that He should take a son.

   إِن كُلُّ مَن فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ إِلَّآ ءَاتِى ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ عَبْدًۭا٩٣

   There is no one in the heavens and earth but that he comes to the Most Merciful as a servant.

   لَّقَدْ أَحْصَىٰهُمْ وَعَدَّهُمْ عَدًّۭا٩٤

   He has enumerated them and counted them a [full] counting.

   وَكُلُّهُمْ ءَاتِيهِ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ فَرْدًا٩٥

   And all of them are coming to Him on the Day of Resurrection alone.

   إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ سَيَجْعَلُ لَهُمُ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ وُدًّۭا٩٦

   Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds - the Most Merciful will appoint for them affection.

   فَإِنَّمَا يَسَّرْنَٰهُ بِلِسَانِكَ لِتُبَشِّرَ بِهِ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ وَتُنذِرَ بِهِۦ قَوْمًۭا لُّدًّۭا٩٧

   So, [O Muhammad], We have only made Qur'an easy in the Arabic language that you may give good tidings thereby to the righteous and warn thereby a hostile people.

   وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُم مِّن قَرْنٍ هَلْ تُحِسُّ مِنْهُم مِّنْ أَحَدٍ أَوْ تَسْمَعُ لَهُمْ رِكْزًۢا٩٨

   And how many have We destroyed before them of generations? Do you perceive of them anyone or hear from them a sound?
