   Read the passage · Al-Muminoon 57–92

   إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ هُم مِّنْ خَشْيَةِ رَبِّهِم مُّشْفِقُونَ٥٧

   Indeed, they who are apprehensive from fear of their Lord

   وَٱلَّذِينَ هُم بِـَٔايَٰتِ رَبِّهِمْ يُؤْمِنُونَ٥٨

   And they who believe in the signs of their Lord

   وَٱلَّذِينَ هُم بِرَبِّهِمْ لَا يُشْرِكُونَ٥٩

   And they who do not associate anything with their Lord

   وَٱلَّذِينَ يُؤْتُونَ مَآ ءَاتَوا۟ وَّقُلُوبُهُمْ وَجِلَةٌ أَنَّهُمْ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ رَٰجِعُونَ٦٠

   And they who give what they give while their hearts are fearful because they will be returning to their Lord -

   أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ يُسَٰرِعُونَ فِى ٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ وَهُمْ لَهَا سَٰبِقُونَ٦١

   It is those who hasten to good deeds, and they outstrip [others] therein.

   وَلَا نُكَلِّفُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَا ۖ وَلَدَيْنَا كِتَٰبٌۭ يَنطِقُ بِٱلْحَقِّ ۚ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ٦٢

   And We charge no soul except [with that within] its capacity, and with Us is a record which speaks with truth; and they will not be wronged.

   بَلْ قُلُوبُهُمْ فِى غَمْرَةٍۢ مِّنْ هَٰذَا وَلَهُمْ أَعْمَٰلٌۭ مِّن دُونِ ذَٰلِكَ هُمْ لَهَا عَٰمِلُونَ٦٣

   But their hearts are covered with confusion over this, and they have [evil] deeds besides disbelief which they are doing,

   حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَآ أَخَذْنَا مُتْرَفِيهِم بِٱلْعَذَابِ إِذَا هُمْ يَجْـَٔرُونَ٦٤

   Until when We seize their affluent ones with punishment, at once they are crying [to Allah] for help.

   لَا تَجْـَٔرُوا۟ ٱلْيَوْمَ ۖ إِنَّكُم مِّنَّا لَا تُنصَرُونَ٦٥

   Do not cry out today. Indeed, by Us you will not be helped.

   قَدْ كَانَتْ ءَايَٰتِى تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْكُمْ فَكُنتُمْ عَلَىٰٓ أَعْقَٰبِكُمْ تَنكِصُونَ٦٦

   My verses had already been recited to you, but you were turning back on your heels

   مُسْتَكْبِرِينَ بِهِۦ سَٰمِرًۭا تَهْجُرُونَ٦٧

   In arrogance regarding it, conversing by night, speaking evil.

   أَفَلَمْ يَدَّبَّرُوا۟ ٱلْقَوْلَ أَمْ جَآءَهُم مَّا لَمْ يَأْتِ ءَابَآءَهُمُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ٦٨

   Then have they not reflected over the Qur'an, or has there come to them that which had not come to their forefathers?

   أَمْ لَمْ يَعْرِفُوا۟ رَسُولَهُمْ فَهُمْ لَهُۥ مُنكِرُونَ٦٩

   Or did they not know their Messenger, so they are toward him disacknowledging?

   أَمْ يَقُولُونَ بِهِۦ جِنَّةٌۢ ۚ بَلْ جَآءَهُم بِٱلْحَقِّ وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ لِلْحَقِّ كَٰرِهُونَ٧٠

   Or do they say, "In him is madness?" Rather, he brought them the truth, but most of them, to the truth, are averse.

   وَلَوِ ٱتَّبَعَ ٱلْحَقُّ أَهْوَآءَهُمْ لَفَسَدَتِ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتُ وَٱلْأَرْضُ وَمَن فِيهِنَّ ۚ بَلْ أَتَيْنَٰهُم بِذِكْرِهِمْ فَهُمْ عَن ذِكْرِهِم مُّعْرِضُونَ٧١

   But if the Truth had followed their inclinations, the heavens and the earth and whoever is in them would have been ruined. Rather, We have brought them their message, but they, from their message, are turning away.

   أَمْ تَسْـَٔلُهُمْ خَرْجًۭا فَخَرَاجُ رَبِّكَ خَيْرٌۭ ۖ وَهُوَ خَيْرُ ٱلرَّٰزِقِينَ٧٢

   Or do you, [O Muhammad], ask them for payment? But the reward of your Lord is best, and He is the best of providers.

   وَإِنَّكَ لَتَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍۢ مُّسْتَقِيمٍۢ٧٣

   And indeed, you invite them to a straight path.

   وَإِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱلْءَاخِرَةِ عَنِ ٱلصِّرَٰطِ لَنَٰكِبُونَ٧٤

   But indeed, those who do not believe in the Hereafter are deviating from the path.

   ۞ وَلَوْ رَحِمْنَٰهُمْ وَكَشَفْنَا مَا بِهِم مِّن ضُرٍّۢ لَّلَجُّوا۟ فِى طُغْيَٰنِهِمْ يَعْمَهُونَ٧٥

   And even if We gave them mercy and removed what was upon them of affliction, they would persist in their transgression, wandering blindly.

   وَلَقَدْ أَخَذْنَٰهُم بِٱلْعَذَابِ فَمَا ٱسْتَكَانُوا۟ لِرَبِّهِمْ وَمَا يَتَضَرَّعُونَ٧٦

   And We had gripped them with suffering [as a warning], but they did not yield to their Lord, nor did they humbly supplicate, [and will continue thus]

   حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا فَتَحْنَا عَلَيْهِم بَابًۭا ذَا عَذَابٍۢ شَدِيدٍ إِذَا هُمْ فِيهِ مُبْلِسُونَ٧٧

   Until when We have opened before them a door of severe punishment, immediately they will be therein in despair.

   وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنشَأَ لَكُمُ ٱلسَّمْعَ وَٱلْأَبْصَٰرَ وَٱلْأَفْـِٔدَةَ ۚ قَلِيلًۭا مَّا تَشْكُرُونَ٧٨

   And it is He who produced for you hearing and vision and hearts; little are you grateful.

   وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى ذَرَأَكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَإِلَيْهِ تُحْشَرُونَ٧٩

   And it is He who has multiplied you throughout the earth, and to Him you will be gathered.

   وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى يُحْىِۦ وَيُمِيتُ وَلَهُ ٱخْتِلَٰفُ ٱلَّيْلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ ۚ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ٨٠

   And it is He who gives life and causes death, and His is the alternation of the night and the day. Then will you not reason?

   بَلْ قَالُوا۟ مِثْلَ مَا قَالَ ٱلْأَوَّلُونَ٨١

   Rather, they say like what the former peoples said.

   قَالُوٓا۟ أَءِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًۭا وَعِظَٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ٨٢

   They said, "When we have died and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected?

   لَقَدْ وُعِدْنَا نَحْنُ وَءَابَآؤُنَا هَٰذَا مِن قَبْلُ إِنْ هَٰذَآ إِلَّآ أَسَٰطِيرُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ٨٣

   We have been promised this, we and our forefathers, before; this is not but legends of the former peoples."

   قُل لِّمَنِ ٱلْأَرْضُ وَمَن فِيهَآ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ٨٤

   Say, [O Muhammad], "To whom belongs the earth and whoever is in it, if you should know?"

   سَيَقُولُونَ لِلَّهِ ۚ قُلْ أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ٨٥

   They will say, "To Allah." Say, "Then will you not remember?"

   قُلْ مَن رَّبُّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ ٱلسَّبْعِ وَرَبُّ ٱلْعَرْشِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ٨٦

   Say, "Who is Lord of the seven heavens and Lord of the Great Throne?"

   سَيَقُولُونَ لِلَّهِ ۚ قُلْ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُونَ٨٧

   They will say, "[They belong] to Allah." Say, "Then will you not fear Him?"

   قُلْ مَنۢ بِيَدِهِۦ مَلَكُوتُ كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ وَهُوَ يُجِيرُ وَلَا يُجَارُ عَلَيْهِ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ٨٨

   Say, "In whose hand is the realm of all things - and He protects while none can protect against Him - if you should know?"

   سَيَقُولُونَ لِلَّهِ ۚ قُلْ فَأَنَّىٰ تُسْحَرُونَ٨٩

   They will say, "[All belongs] to Allah." Say, "Then how are you deluded?"

   بَلْ أَتَيْنَٰهُم بِٱلْحَقِّ وَإِنَّهُمْ لَكَٰذِبُونَ٩٠

   Rather, We have brought them the truth, and indeed they are liars.

   مَا ٱتَّخَذَ ٱللَّهُ مِن وَلَدٍۢ وَمَا كَانَ مَعَهُۥ مِنْ إِلَٰهٍ ۚ إِذًۭا لَّذَهَبَ كُلُّ إِلَٰهٍۭ بِمَا خَلَقَ وَلَعَلَا بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍۢ ۚ سُبْحَٰنَ ٱللَّهِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ٩١

   Allah has not taken any son, nor has there ever been with Him any deity. [If there had been], then each deity would have taken what it created, and some of them would have sought to overcome others. Exalted is Allah above what they describe [concerning Him].

   عَٰلِمِ ٱلْغَيْبِ وَٱلشَّهَٰدَةِ فَتَعَٰلَىٰ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ٩٢

   [He is] Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, so high is He above what they associate [with Him].

2. Maghrib

   18:26

   Read the passage · Al-Infitaar 6–12

   يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ ٱلْكَرِيمِ٦

   O mankind, what has deceived you concerning your Lord, the Generous,

   ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكَ فَسَوَّىٰكَ فَعَدَلَكَ٧

   Who created you, proportioned you, and balanced you?

   فِىٓ أَىِّ صُورَةٍۢ مَّا شَآءَ رَكَّبَكَ٨

   In whatever form He willed has He assembled you.

   كَلَّا بَلْ تُكَذِّبُونَ بِٱلدِّينِ٩

   No! But you deny the Recompense.

   وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكُمْ لَحَٰفِظِينَ١٠

   And indeed, [appointed] over you are keepers,

   كِرَامًۭا كَٰتِبِينَ١١

   Noble and recording;

   يَعْلَمُونَ مَا تَفْعَلُونَ١٢

   They know whatever you do.

   Read the passage · Al-Inshiqaaq 6–15

   يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ إِنَّكَ كَادِحٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ كَدْحًۭا فَمُلَٰقِيهِ٦

   O mankind, indeed you are laboring toward your Lord with [great] exertion and will meet it.

   فَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِىَ كِتَٰبَهُۥ بِيَمِينِهِۦ٧

   Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand,

   فَسَوْفَ يُحَاسَبُ حِسَابًۭا يَسِيرًۭا٨

   He will be judged with an easy account

   وَيَنقَلِبُ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦ مَسْرُورًۭا٩

   And return to his people in happiness.

   وَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِىَ كِتَٰبَهُۥ وَرَآءَ ظَهْرِهِۦ١٠

   But as for he who is given his record behind his back,

   فَسَوْفَ يَدْعُوا۟ ثُبُورًۭا١١

   He will cry out for destruction

   وَيَصْلَىٰ سَعِيرًا١٢

   And [enter to] burn in a Blaze.

   إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ فِىٓ أَهْلِهِۦ مَسْرُورًا١٣

   Indeed, he had [once] been among his people in happiness;

   إِنَّهُۥ ظَنَّ أَن لَّن يَحُورَ١٤

   Indeed, he had thought he would never return [to Allah].

   بَلَىٰٓ إِنَّ رَبَّهُۥ كَانَ بِهِۦ بَصِيرًۭا١٥

   But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him, Seeing.

3. Isha

   19:56

   Read the passage · Ash-Shu'araa 69–104

   وَٱتْلُ عَلَيْهِمْ نَبَأَ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ٦٩

   And recite to them the news of Abraham,

   إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِۦ مَا تَعْبُدُونَ٧٠

   When he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship?"

   قَالُوا۟ نَعْبُدُ أَصْنَامًۭا فَنَظَلُّ لَهَا عَٰكِفِينَ٧١

   They said, "We worship idols and remain to them devoted."

   قَالَ هَلْ يَسْمَعُونَكُمْ إِذْ تَدْعُونَ٧٢

   He said, "Do they hear you when you supplicate?

   أَوْ يَنفَعُونَكُمْ أَوْ يَضُرُّونَ٧٣

   Or do they benefit you, or do they harm?"

   قَالُوا۟ بَلْ وَجَدْنَآ ءَابَآءَنَا كَذَٰلِكَ يَفْعَلُونَ٧٤

   They said, "But we found our fathers doing thus."

   قَالَ أَفَرَءَيْتُم مَّا كُنتُمْ تَعْبُدُونَ٧٥

   He said, "Then do you see what you have been worshipping,

   أَنتُمْ وَءَابَآؤُكُمُ ٱلْأَقْدَمُونَ٧٦

   You and your ancient forefathers?

   فَإِنَّهُمْ عَدُوٌّۭ لِّىٓ إِلَّا رَبَّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ٧٧

   Indeed, they are enemies to me, except the Lord of the worlds,

   ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَنِى فَهُوَ يَهْدِينِ٧٨

   Who created me, and He [it is who] guides me.

   وَٱلَّذِى هُوَ يُطْعِمُنِى وَيَسْقِينِ٧٩

   And it is He who feeds me and gives me drink.

   وَإِذَا مَرِضْتُ فَهُوَ يَشْفِينِ٨٠

   And when I am ill, it is He who cures me

   وَٱلَّذِى يُمِيتُنِى ثُمَّ يُحْيِينِ٨١

   And who will cause me to die and then bring me to life

   وَٱلَّذِىٓ أَطْمَعُ أَن يَغْفِرَ لِى خَطِيٓـَٔتِى يَوْمَ ٱلدِّينِ٨٢

   And who I aspire that He will forgive me my sin on the Day of Recompense."

   رَبِّ هَبْ لِى حُكْمًۭا وَأَلْحِقْنِى بِٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ٨٣

   [And he said], "My Lord, grant me authority and join me with the righteous.

   وَٱجْعَل لِّى لِسَانَ صِدْقٍۢ فِى ٱلْءَاخِرِينَ٨٤

   And grant me a reputation of honor among later generations.

   وَٱجْعَلْنِى مِن وَرَثَةِ جَنَّةِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ٨٥

   And place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Pleasure.

   وَٱغْفِرْ لِأَبِىٓ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ٨٦

   And forgive my father. Indeed, he has been of those astray.

   وَلَا تُخْزِنِى يَوْمَ يُبْعَثُونَ٨٧

   And do not disgrace me on the Day they are [all] resurrected -

   يَوْمَ لَا يَنفَعُ مَالٌۭ وَلَا بَنُونَ٨٨

   The Day when there will not benefit [anyone] wealth or children

   إِلَّا مَنْ أَتَى ٱللَّهَ بِقَلْبٍۢ سَلِيمٍۢ٨٩

   But only one who comes to Allah with a sound heart."

   وَأُزْلِفَتِ ٱلْجَنَّةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ٩٠

   And Paradise will be brought near [that Day] to the righteous.

   وَبُرِّزَتِ ٱلْجَحِيمُ لِلْغَاوِينَ٩١

   And Hellfire will be brought forth for the deviators,

   وَقِيلَ لَهُمْ أَيْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْبُدُونَ٩٢

   And it will be said to them, "Where are those you used to worship

   مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ هَلْ يَنصُرُونَكُمْ أَوْ يَنتَصِرُونَ٩٣

   Other than Allah? Can they help you or help themselves?"

   فَكُبْكِبُوا۟ فِيهَا هُمْ وَٱلْغَاوُۥنَ٩٤

   So they will be overturned into Hellfire, they and the deviators

   وَجُنُودُ إِبْلِيسَ أَجْمَعُونَ٩٥

   And the soldiers of Iblees, all together.

   قَالُوا۟ وَهُمْ فِيهَا يَخْتَصِمُونَ٩٦

   They will say while they dispute therein,

   تَٱللَّهِ إِن كُنَّا لَفِى ضَلَٰلٍۢ مُّبِينٍ٩٧

   "By Allah, we were indeed in manifest error

   إِذْ نُسَوِّيكُم بِرَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ٩٨

   When we equated you with the Lord of the worlds.

   وَمَآ أَضَلَّنَآ إِلَّا ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ٩٩

   And no one misguided us except the criminals.

   فَمَا لَنَا مِن شَٰفِعِينَ١٠٠

   So now we have no intercessors

   وَلَا صَدِيقٍ حَمِيمٍۢ١٠١

   And not a devoted friend.

   فَلَوْ أَنَّ لَنَا كَرَّةًۭ فَنَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ١٠٢

   Then if we only had a return [to the world] and could be of the believers... "

   إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَةًۭ ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ١٠٣

   Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.

   وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ١٠٤

   And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.

   Read the passage · Al-Mumtahana 4–6

   قَدْ كَانَتْ لَكُمْ أُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌۭ فِىٓ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَٱلَّذِينَ مَعَهُۥٓ إِذْ قَالُوا۟ لِقَوْمِهِمْ إِنَّا بُرَءَٰٓؤُا۟ مِنكُمْ وَمِمَّا تَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ كَفَرْنَا بِكُمْ وَبَدَا بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكُمُ ٱلْعَدَٰوَةُ وَٱلْبَغْضَآءُ أَبَدًا حَتَّىٰ تُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ وَحْدَهُۥٓ إِلَّا قَوْلَ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ لِأَبِيهِ لَأَسْتَغْفِرَنَّ لَكَ وَمَآ أَمْلِكُ لَكَ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ مِن شَىْءٍۢ ۖ رَّبَّنَا عَلَيْكَ تَوَكَّلْنَا وَإِلَيْكَ أَنَبْنَا وَإِلَيْكَ ٱلْمَصِيرُ٤

   There has already been for you an excellent pattern in Abraham and those with him, when they said to their people, "Indeed, we are disassociated from you and from whatever you worship other than Allah. We have denied you, and there has appeared between us and you animosity and hatred forever until you believe in Allah alone" except for the saying of Abraham to his father, "I will surely ask forgiveness for you, but I have not [power to do] for you anything against Allah. Our Lord, upon You we have relied, and to You we have returned, and to You is the destination.

   رَبَّنَا لَا تَجْعَلْنَا فِتْنَةًۭ لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَٱغْفِرْ لَنَا رَبَّنَآ ۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ٥

   Our Lord, make us not [objects of] torment for the disbelievers and forgive us, our Lord. Indeed, it is You who is the Exalted in Might, the Wise."

   لَقَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ فِيهِمْ أُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌۭ لِّمَن كَانَ يَرْجُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَٱلْيَوْمَ ٱلْءَاخِرَ ۚ وَمَن يَتَوَلَّ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ هُوَ ٱلْغَنِىُّ ٱلْحَمِيدُ٦

   There has certainly been for you in them an excellent pattern for anyone whose hope is in Allah and the Last Day. And whoever turns away - then indeed, Allah is the Free of need, the Praiseworthy.
